Yeah, you are right cheers. I got through to AST in the end. I'm missing the plastic bearings.

The wires are all different colours but you can follow them through and connect them back up with some patience.

Yeah if you can't get the horseshoe to just slot back in to the back of the cams once you've pinned the crank then the timing has slipped.

Engine coming along. Hope to clean rocker cover properly tomorrow and paint it all up. Then ill get the cambelt on and it timed up. You can see the cams are locked an the crank is also pinned in place already. I've got a new crank bolt to fit as well. Needed a couple of bits from Renault...

If you're not hunting power then I'd rebuild as standard and maybe add some arp bolts. Anything else will add expense. Even in standard form though it's not cheap. There's a recent rebuild engine for sale on the forum.

It's going to cost you £24 in spray paint from Halfords, so for the bit extra i'd go for it.

Yes mine's a Sport. Rear defuser does get cut but you can buy a replacement piece of trim with the cutout apparently. I gave up in the end as getting the towbar on our Tiguan instead probably.
