You also have a new revised "blue" version of the crank sensor.
Thats the one you want! I got mine from a scrapper, but you need to cut the loom as well as the connector is different.
Just listened to your message (got it from Gus) @fairm010
Great to hear you guys are appreciating my tip :up:
I don't know why these things are actually so damn expensive from Renault.... these are actually more expensive then the bigger/newer Megane 225 ones ..... go figure :neutral:
They are...
Yes i paid wih paypal through my credit card (covered on all sides basically!).
But im very confident that this will work out, the injectors are priced pretty low but for the other stuff i ordered the difference is not all that big (still 20%-40% cheaper than here though).
Definatelly sounds...
Wanted some new injectors so did a search and ended up at this place (car parts shop in Latvia).
Asked them to confirm that these are not chinese knockoffs, and they did -> the real deal (same as OEM!) for 25% of what they would cost at Renault!
Wanted to share this with you guys so get them...
Its a bit louder but pulls better when on temp definatelly worth it !
On the 182 header especially as the decat is easily changeable as well, 10 min. job on these.
2 hours on the older ones, glad i changed to the 182 header ... makes power and living with a decat allot easier:cool:
Update : Mine is going to be mapped by Henk on the 25th.
He also has done the 182 with RS2 from @bozothenutter on the same dyno.
Curious about the comparison.
I have some Denso IK-20 in mine run fine as well (are iridium instead of platinum).
Regarding the wires, keep it original or go for the red (competition) magnecors.
The blue magnecors tend to have allot more issues, so i would definatelly avoid these.
good luck with the mapping today @DSilvaSport
Are you running a cat on your 182 ?
Everybody is pretty curious about the outcome :cool::up:
Just went for the first long drive in the sunflower after all the mods i done last week (its not my daily).
Made a big difference, pulls even better in 5th...
@DSilvaSport
looks good! How did you tackle the injectors and fuel rail as i see that your fuel rail is at an even lower angle than mine. You even had to cut a bit off the "useless" FPR location :wink:
@notfastnotfurious
Yep exactly the only thing your have to watch out for is cutting of too much.
I made sure that the plastic i left is just as big as the grey connector on the injector.
That way you get the optimal result with to secure it in place with the heat shrink.:up:
@ZSCLIO
You need...
Yep def looking forward to that :grin:
I haven't measured the length though but at a guess its about 11cm each side.
It came off a golf 4 but i noticted the same hose on different other VW's as well so i guess its a pretty common part :up:
The injector angle need to be in the same as the hole...
Well i made all the modifications i wanted to to.
First up the fuel rail :
Ditched the bolts and went with this -> m6 and all tapered making it 1000x easier to adjust with 2 nuts.
1 nut before the fuel rail and one after.
Its sitting allot smarter now especially with the injectors at the...
Yes i did the exact same thing, but they need to be a specific length to get the angle of the injectors just right.
I made them to small before, which is the reason they are not sitting right at this time :kissing:
You need a 8mm tube pipe for anyone going this route.
Been working with the connectors yesterday and found out that you can easily remove the terminals from the connector with a modded tweezer (bent them a bit outwards instead of inwards) :wink:
Ill be getting myself some used connectors and remove allot of plastic till the bare minimum is left...
They do fit out of the box! But not at the angle you want them to be.
Im pretty sure that the injector rail is also putting the injectors at a slightly different angle when bolted on.
So we can be pretty clear that this is not a direct bolt on set, it gets you going in the right direction but...
Hmmz and how much do you have to skim of that connector to get it to fit ?
If you have these spare anyway :wink:
Other option is to basically remove everything apart from the middle of the connector and secure it with a small ammount of hotglue (easily removable).
You can always restore it back...
I have found these (used in some nissan applications).
VG30DETT Injector Connector (Early Style)
Nissan 300zx 90-94 Twin Turbo
Nissan 300zx 90-92 (and 93 Convertible) Non Turbo
Nissan 300zx 84-89 300ZX
Nissan Maxima 1990-1992 V6
These are about 4-5mm lower than normal :

@DSilvaSport
The best option would probably be to see if there are some slimmer connectors available.
For now it works but im searching for a better final solution.
It a bit hard to get to the dipstick and filter yes but its doable.
Regarding the bolt -> yes you have to jack up the engine on the driver side.
I simply replaced the bolt wilt a torx one to get it removed allot faster and easier in the future :up::cool:
Im going to get the clutch replaced on the sunflower.
But which of the gaskets could i get replaced on the gearbox to get over the shaft leakage.
As the box is off anyway i might as well get this sorted if possible :wink:
What can be replaced to sort this without rebuilding the box (gaskets etc. ?)
