Thanks for the quick opinion Fred, but whats the reason that renault made them rather small in height in the first place ?
There is clearly enough space to get a bit heigher/bigger filter in there (higher/bigger usually means higher flow rates).
K&N "sales arguments" on this filter :

I want to buy some new oil filters to keep in stock and came across these for the same price as the original renault ones.
These seem to be commly used on the japanese cars but specs wise it might fit on our cars as well.
So im thinking what the hell might get these instead
But just to...
Nope never said i was ..... :o i am just looking for an easy fix with normal parts that everybody should have access to.
This works fine for me and is fully covered by the cover itself (nobody can see it anyway).
Not everybody has access to a machine shop to remachine it .....
But note to Pure...
Well i just drove about 50miles with speeds up to 110mph :o
This last fix is working really well i would say about 95% of the rattle is gone now :)
Cruising at 80-90 mph its dead silent now !
It will not last long probably, but this "fix" is still in "Beta" stage :p
I wanted to use a small spring and a clamp but the only small spring i had was a tad to small.
If this actually works like i think its going to work those are the next things i will replace the elastic with
Sorry for the delay guys, here are my attemps with detailed pix
Attempt 1:
Results :
It reduced the rattle quite a bit. But i felt a better result was achievable.
Attempt 2 :
Results :
I haven't driven it 5 miles with this fix yet, but already i can say this is going to be a...
Its defintately an improvement but when you get to 110+ it will rattle allot none the less.
In my experience its only realy annoying cruising in 5th at 80-90 mph and the elastic band helped out allot there.
I will make the last changes today and give you guys the results / pix.
Yep thats elastic, and no it isn't putting stress on the gearbox if i have done my math right
Its only realy putting pressure down, but that is covered by the bearing in the housing itself.
It requires a bit more effort to put it in reverse (logically as the elastic wants to pull it...
Well i gave fixing the rattling a go and managed to reduce it quite a bit.
But the fix had to be "stealth" and not visibly noticeable and offcourse not stress the gear linkage ;)
This is my first go and the rattling went down about 80%.
And i know exactly how to get it closer to the 100% mark :D...
I have placed a full RHD 182 interior in my LHD 172. This works fine but i don't have the height adjustment on my drivers seat. I was wondering if there is a possibility to get height adjustment on the other seat.
Can you replace the subframe's from a height adjusted seat and put them on a...
I've already done that ;)
Price for the discs separate = £141.91 inc vat.
If these are the discs Gaverick pointed to then its nearly half the price for the discs unmodified
Price seems a bit steep ;)
I know jam sport has a full kit that they are selling with Pagid discs.
Does anybody happen to know the part number of these specific discs ?
Pagid -> size 295mm thickness 26mm

Well its time for a major update
Cleaned the engine bay :
From this
To this
Placed some new black headlights
Put the battery in the back on the passenger side (LHD car ;))
Used the battery bracket of a wrecked citroen c3. worked perfectly.
I did not replace the mbc as i did not feel its was needed, several other persons who done the same update have also not upgraded it.
I haven't gotten the OZ's any more but i believe they had an ET of 37.
Well all the belts have been done (again) and also the dephaser was replaced
This weekend i was able to finish the complete phase 3 interior transformation !
All the buttons (hazard/lock) worked out perfect in the end, took allot of fiddling but its done now and well worth it...
Nice Martin looking good.
Have you used ceramic grease with the pads ?
The pug lads suggest/advice the white grease pretty strongly.
Haven't gotten the time to fit mine with the ceramic grease
Allright perfect :D
But the rear window heating problem must still be adressed as the guide only covers how to rewire them so the unlocking/locking function works with the heater button.
As i never use the lock/unlock button anyway id rather keep the rear window heating button to do what its for...
I just upgraded my ph1 sunflower to the ph2 dashboard.
Since the ph1 doesn't have climate control but just normal aircon i was thinking to put this "normal" clio panel in.
Found some pix of the back and from the look of the connectors they seem to be the same (Green and white).
Assuming this...
Good to see they arrived Martin.
I clearly put it in the openings post that you had to alter the calipers so you can fit the 45° bolts though :p:o
I put some other hub bolts in aswell -> correct size needs to be 50mm M12 -> Thread pitch 1.25
Did he supply this exact size bolts and is it the...
Well some bad news, noticed the dephaser pully started to make the familiar noises
Wich is pretty F****D up as the cambelt was done 10.000km's ago (just over 1 year) when i bought the car.
Well time for another big update
Put some new "White" coated Lenso VPD 16" alloys on with new Kumho 215/40/R16 Tires
I have seen stu and other "sunflowers" on here with white wheels and they look stunning.
And i managed to find a BG182 Cup wich was brought here to strip from the uk...
The scrubbing is due to the disc expanding a bit when its hot wich makes the disc touch the caliper a tad.
It will solve itself realy easy but just so you guys know.
Have to get some other grease on the pads so they squeek a bit but other than that works like a charm
Just a small note, the 300mm discs are a tight tight fit so you can here some scrubbing for the first few miles.
The flower stops/looks like a boss with this upgrade especially with my...
