Got the Sunflower out of storage yesterday and gave it a quick blast to test the calipers and pads.
The mk3 ones work like a charm, nearly take up the entire 300mm disc which the "normal" :tonguewink: 197/225 calipers do not.
Unused disc with 197/225 calipers ~ 12mm
Unused disc with mk3 275...
If your referring to the normal 197/200 calipers, that has been asked dozens of times (give the search a go).
If you mean with the mk3 calipers, well im the only one running these. And even with 15mm spacers its very very close (my guess about 5mm of space).
And im using original (build for...
I don't thinks that taking this up with UPS is going to work out at all.
You already signed for the package which normally means that you accept it in the state that it arrived (no physical damage).
This will release UPS from all the responsibility for the package, making this claim pretty much...
Yes mine have overspray on the seals as well, seems to be a trend @ brembo.
@Sash i would be disappointed as well i i would get a set like that :dizzy:
Just give him a chance to get it solved and if he doesn't respond paypal dispute.
Paypal even cover the return costs nowadays
Yep they are on the car fully bled and ready to go (car is in storage).
Pedal feels awesome nice and firm, but small note : my car has a laguna V6 brake cilinder (23.8mm bore instead of 22mm).
I just finished mounting the mk3 calipers.
Fit perfectly and they take up as good as an entire 300mm disc
These calipers are lower between the mounting holes which means they are not flush (which the 197-200-225 calipers are).
So the brackets need to be modded to make room for this, i...
I already had a set of brackets which i used for my previous 197-225 setup.
They are made by a mate of mine here in the netherlands, but are not being made at this time.
If i would need to buy some brackets today, pms everyday (i had louds of their stuff all of which amazing workmanship).
Mine have arrived as well
Also the real deal and brand new, i have a feeling that they are cleaning out some old stock or something.
The ebay seller is part of a genuine polish Renault dealer -> http://www.jaszpol.pl/
You will need to mill of a few mm on the normal 200 brembo's already to get them to fit on the 280mm discs. These are even bigger so unless you mill of even more and basically remove the structure it will absolutely not fit. To note i can bearly get a hair between the calipers and my renault oz...
These are allot more common in silver than they are in red, pretty much the same with the older style brembo's though.
Pads of the mk3 275 calipers :
I already have new pins and these pads here, and i can confirm that these are indeed correct!
Brembo part number : P54040
I had the oppertunity to buy a set of mk3 275 calipers, but as no one has ever tried this before i first opted to check if it would fit on the 172/182.
In the end, i could mount them on the exact same brackets as i already use for my 225 brembo setup.
The calipers and pads are a bit bigger and...
I went for the Megane 3 RS one's, so he is now officialy sold-out
Already testfitted a set of these on the sunflower, looked absolutely awesome but these ones where horrible (corrosion knackered them completely).
In my opionion an even better option than the 197 ones, more pad and an even...
@bozothenutter
Yep
Haven't driven the car yet as i need to get a new bearing pressed in the hub first (hub is removed)
But i was now able to freely rotate the wheels without them sticking unlike before
@dablk
I love the brembo's they will give you just that bit of extra confidence...
Well as nobody was able to give me any info it was investigation time.
I removed the mbc again and checked, the 172 indeed uses the same type of servo as in the picture.
Adjusted it and the pads are now free from the discs with the new bigger mbc. I haven't driven it yet but im very confident...
Just replaced them myself. They are definatelly a pita tot remove.
I had one that i couldn't remove. In the end i had tot create a new line to the right side.
If its round already your basically screwed.
I think i have found the reason of the issue, i think the push rod is slightly pressed due to the different brake cilinder.
Does anybody know if the 172 servo's have adjustable push rod's like the once on the picture ?
That way i would be able to compensate the length.
Absolute worse case...
That was also a possibility but this mbc is a direct exchange, all the locations and threads are identical.
On paper it seems to be ideal.
I want to keep ABS.
I just upgraded the mbc and redid all the fluid on the sunflower due to the 4 pot Brembo's i have on it.
At first it seemed to be working well but i noticed the smell of the discs getting realy hot and the car struggling to even move. In the end it stopped and was stuck...not moving at all.
The...
Didn't notice it all :o
Als ze de mijne maar eerder uitleveren ... :rasp:
Noticed the 182 cup ones are allot les interesting to buy then the "normal" ones.

You have special versions of this site for just about every country in the EU EXCEPT the UK ...... :S
Thanks ! Im realy carefull with those sites as 99% of the stuff doesn't actually fit on the car.
Its fine if you have a regular Clio though.
But to be fair they had it right this time :D
Ordered some SKF VKBA 3596's.
Was able to get them for a VERY good price  (€26 each -> 20 pounds)...
One of my wheel bearings died this morning.
Now i normally would go to the dealer but the price difference in bearings is EXTREMELY high.
I want to buy some decent bearings so am thinking of going for some SNR (OEM renault afaik) and SKF.
But i need to know the right type/size for the fase 1...
