Bit of both really, it stops quite well IMO and never seems to fade or anything, wasn't listing the pad as the reason, just wanted to say I don't have anything special like DS2500s (right name?) and mine stops fine, fairly standard brakes IMO.
There probably is, whoever it is just hasn't appeared yet, plus with working all over the place and training in Bedfordshire every few weeks my schedules a nightmare! Yeah me again ;) Tempted to wet sand a tiniest bit then try polishing it by hand, may do it on a cheap panel off the breakers...
I forgot im so good at wetsanding ;) (remember the thread about my bonnet? ;)) I'll never ever even buy some sandpaper again unless its for painting. Plus I have no machine polisher, and polishing by hand would take eternity! Got any idea about the door shuts? :)
Weird your grease post came up...
Agreed. I have a Clio 1.2 (MK3 though if it matters?) with Renault vented discs and Pagid pads and very impressed with how it stops, always got confidence I can stop if I need to but obviously brake far in advance whenever possible.
Have used a cutting polish and its smoothed it loads, Facerla G3 Permanent Scratch Remover :) Very happy but taking forever! Wish there was some way to do it quicker as this could take a while.
Think one of my tweeters has blown in my Clio Mk3, as theres a distinct crackling when music is on which is very annoying!
I've changed the speakers and nothing, so must be the passenger side tweeter I assume.
Anyone know the best way to change these?
Done loads since this was last updated, shameful really how up to date this thread is! Will update it when I get a free moment at work and can plug my phone in for pictures :)
Things I've done:
Got a three light interior light
New LED bulbs all round (much whiter)
HID Kit (Yes I have...
Edit no I think it goes at middle the whole time to be honest. Never really noticed the temp going up and down. If its worth changing I will do, to save a job further down the line. Is it best to use genuine Renault for £26 or one from ECP made by Vernet for £11? Then I need some kind of sealant...
Thanks for that :) Bleed screw I think sounds easier than thermostat. Would you bother flushing it? Its using original coolant as far as I know, most of the receipts just say "service", useful!
So basically from beginning to end, remove the undertray, undo lower radiator hose and put into bucket. Then wait for coolant to drain, (this is the bit i'm curious about), then once its drained start filling with new coolant until expansion bottles close to max, then undo the bleed screw which...
Ah okay thanks, also when do you know if the discs need replacing? Mines done 41K and they've never been done as far as I know. They don't look too bad but is there any telltale signs you can see when looking at the discs?
I get how to do the coolant I think :) How do you bleed the system...
Hey guys,
Tried one of those tcut scratch remover pens on my car out of curiosity, only done a couple of scratches with it and they do look alot better I must admit. The problem is though it works by putting a layer of laquer or paint on top of the scratch will fills it in and hides it very...
Hey,
Was wondering if any of you have a Renault manual or can guide me through a couple of jobs on my Mk3 1.2 Clio.
Firstly I want to flush/change the coolant, as it doesn't look like its ever been changed. I've done a few jobs to the car so know some basics but detail would be useful ;)...
They're non return valves, similar to what you use in an aquarium I believe. They make sure something can only pass one way, so it stops the air going back down the hose, and the fluid coming out the end when the pump is off.
WD40 or similar and leave to soak for a while, if the arms are similar to a MK3 then you smack the sprung hinge area fairly hard with your hand and it loosens it a lot so you can pull it off.
