The rear calipers have just been replaced and I refurbished a set for the front last year.
Discs were last changed a good while before that though so hopefully chucking new ones on with the good calipers will help stop excessive corrosion.
How often are you forced into changing yours due to corrosion?
The Trophy is a second car but still gets used a few times a week. Regardless, I find the rear discs especially always end up corroding quite badly.
Fronts at the minute are apparently a bit corroded on the inside too, plenty of...
Yes although I didn't think it looked the clearest.
What do you mean by slow? What sort of readings are you looking for and should the post cat always be a static value?
Light came on again so took the opportunity to have a fiddle with my code reader. Here are the live values-
Forgive the orientation. What does the S1 and S2 signify in that? Pre and post cat?
What exactly do you mean by 'graph the lambda'? And do you mean it's killed the cat or the lambda?
New ignition leads sorted a hesitant starting issue I was occasionally having so it wasn't for nothing.
I only went to the specialist recently as it needed the aux belt done, they're too far away...
When I checked my rear light connections there was some corrosion but nothing that'd make me think it'd be enough to cause an issue.
Might be worth getting it to someone who really knows these cars. I've had the car since 2014 and only just got working cruise control because I'd kept putting...
Just had mine fixed and suspect this was the issue. Also flickered when indicating left.
Originally thought it was a slight misfire stopping the cruise from working but I confirmed today (EML was on) that the EML being on will not stop the cruise from working.
However, that was both cruise and...
Reviving this. Had it in at a specialist recently for aux belt and a few other things, got new injectors which cured the misfire code which did end up re-appearing but yesterday the EML came on again.
Just got my new code reader on it and it's relating to the cat again.
Assuming the cat itself...
Just had the aux. belt kit done at SWR and a few other bits and pieces. Replacing the injectors now leaves me with working cruise control for the first time in 3.5 years.
Interestingly enough it seems that an issue with them, while not triggering the EML, was enough to stop the cruise from working.
Drive them and enjoy them. They'll never lose money now.
Unless you were lucky enough to own a Clio V6, 993, e30 M3 etc. when they were cheap, don't expect much in the way of investment.
My Trophy is approaching 100k miles and I'm glad I can use it with no guilt. A 20k miler sounds nice but...
Well the EML did come on again the other week while sitting at 70 and I did wonder if it was the same thing but the diagnostics say the catalytic converter.
I'd have been a bit surprised if it was the same thing as the car has been starting consistently well since the leads were changed and the...
Update- just got PS3's in XL guise fitted today, will see how different they feel. Just pressing the sidewall by hand it's obvious how little flex they have in comparison to the Goodyears.
Liked the idea of the AD08R's but on a recent drive over the Cairn O'Mount in cold, greasy conditions, the...
It seems no-one can agree on the 3 or 5 year timeline.
My service book says 5 but I'm sure I read on here that Renault apparently changed this due to early failures. No idea how much is hearsay though.
No, it's always had strong fumes though I suspect that might be to do with the remap the previous owner had.
Touch wood I've not noticed any misfire since, and it seems to be starting the exact same way every time.
You can push the boundaries of them in tighter corners on a well sighted road to be fair. It's as much about feel as anything else and I want to know I'm doing the car justice in that regard.
I've had Goodyear Eagles more or less since I got it and although happy with them, lots of people say they're not the best for feel and precision due to being so soft. That's not just Trophy owners but general comments on performance cars.
Never really had anything to compare them to on the car...
