They would have been brighter because the light would have been scattered everywhere instead of at the correct angle on the road.
BTW, 6000K won't be as bright as the bulbs you have in now, if they're the standard bulbs. The higher the colour temperature, the less light you actually get onto...
You have two choices really.
1. Find a complete set of OEM xenons second hand/pay Renault prices, either way quite expensive and probably hard to find second hand.
2. Buy a set of non xenon OEM projector lights and then buy an HID kit to go with it, probably cheaper and easier to find.

Last time I looked in this thread it was a shell, come a long way, looks stunning now. It's a credit to you.
If it were possible I'd have it tucking just a little tyre, no wheel though!
It's to do with how many have been stolen/crashed etc, not just to do with power. Obviously a lot more fannies have stolen/written off Evos than they have M3s.

Also, give adding your Dad as an additional driver a try, it may well bring it down a bit.
If you haven't already, get the centre box removed from the Milltek system, it'll rasp its tits off then.

Nice buy.
I've always disagreed with the people who say spending a lot on insurance is mental, if you can afford it and it's what you love, go for it. You could drop dead tomorrow, can't take money with you so may as well enjoy it while you're here! The amount I've spent on cars since I...
Somebody needs to ask him why the bonnet's broken. Then, when he explains it's lifters and it's deliberate, ignore it and repeatedly ask if it's been crashed/why the bonnet is broken. Then watch him go off his tits about it.
