Have a look for online wheel calculators. They will show you how different they will be, compared to original wheels. Just enter the proposed wheel size and original. Ride height has nothing to do with it. (Unless your car's lowered, then extra rubbing maybe an issue)
I've only ever been a passenger with AD08s but I would imagine that they would be far better as they are a genuine track tyre. I'm not knocking the MA-Z1 as a well priced road tyre but for Maxxis to pitch them as a track tyre is pushing it a bit IMO. I'd only buy them again for road use, on a...
I'd only class them as a reasonable road tyre to be honest, at a wet Silverstone they were awful. They were ok on the rear on dry track but there's far better road tyres out there. I guess you're saying that you just want a tyre that can do road and a few track days. Personally I don't like...
Correct!
Good road tyre as they will last forever but they don't handle that well really. Track? No thanks lol, these are not track tyres. The drift ones I can't see being any better, as they will be made to smoke. Once you've tried a proper track tyre, these won't appear that good but for the...
No I haven't Jon. I know of very few standard engined Clios that run one. If Fred would have said I needed one, then it would have one. After all the track miles mine's done, it says to me that it isn't needed. If people want to fit one for peace of mind then fair enough.
Need to be 4 x 100 PCD and at least 60.1 centres. Also check offset as this will vary and determines how far they'll stick out. Once you find out the offset, find an online wheel calculator and it will tell you the difference compared to OEM.
Not worth checking IMHO. Doesn't bother me if you've got just an RS tuner. Not saying that you have but you might only have a 150bhp engine and how is it going to be checked?
Camber bolts would be nice to help us through the bends too.
R1Rs are a better track tyre for wet use, RSRs are better in the dry. First time I used R1Rs on track, they were moving about too much, however I use them as my road and wet track tyre. They do get better in the dry when they're worn down a bit. As you would expect though, they do perform better...
There's a group for what is currently called the French Trophy Race Series, which is the series that we are competing in. It is subject to a name change for next year though due to an MSA rule.
