^ As Fred said: Brembos all the way - couple 'em with some EBC Green Stuff pads, and you won't regret it - it made the world of difference on my 182! :D
Great idea that - fitting winter tyres. Shame I've not seen snow here for about 10 years (good old south coast  ), otherwise I think I'd give that a go too.
By the way, your car looks identical to mine - I've even got a white Ring sticker in the same place! I don't have the black...
I smacked mine into a kerb when I understeered massively on a slippery bend. I wasn't buckled, but a lot of metal was scraped off. I called my local Chips Away guy out, as I didn't know what else to do. He came out and filled it all out again, got the paint details from Renault and made it up on...
A red 197, heading south on the A34 near Newbury, being driven by a girl. You didn't wave or nowt. Car was looking really sweet. Not sure about the K-Tec sticker on the back bumper though. :D
Ahh... wasn't me then - right place, wrong car. Could've been Thomas off here - iirc he lives not too far from there and has a blue 182 w/o stripes. :)
Here's mine at the 'Ring, after I'd smacked the bumper and splitter on a kerb at our hotel. I've fixed the splitter, but the paintwork is still to be repaired!
That's really annoying when that happens. Unfortunately Dan, I don't think the Police would be interested, and ultimately you'll have to take it on the chin and foot the bill. Gutted for ya matey.
There's far too much vigilante-ism on our roads at the moment. It's downright dangerous. If someone wants to drive like a loon, then let them. Like MarkCup said, you just drop back a little more to allow time for the both of you to stop safely. Just let these morons do their thing - they'll run...
I wouldn't waste your money tbh. I got some of those, and they miss far too much of the screen to be worth the extra cash. I think I'll get some of those PIAA silicone wiper blades next time, as they look like they're pretty hi-tech (for wiper blades, that is).
Renault Rip-Offs! You could have Brembo standard discs and EBC Greenstuff pads for much less than that! Don't pay them to change the wipers either, just pop down to GSF or EuroCarParts and get some for a few quid.
Brakes: They did fit copper slip, so try the bedding in advice from Edde.
Noise: Acceleration only, and stops when you dip the clutch - could be a number of things, perhaps a driveshaft or cv joint. TBH I'm not really qualified to say for sure.
When do you get the noise from the front wheel? Is it on full-lock? Is it a high or low speed? More details needed to assess that problem.
The squeeky brakes are probably just where the fitter forgot to apply a little copper grease to the backs of the pads. If it bothers you that much, then...
Re: My car is fcuked!!!
I remember my brother had a similar problem in his Fiat a few years back, driving along, then the engine died and just wouldn't start. It turned out the cambelt had snapped. Fortunately, no damage was done to the valve train or pistons.
