I know its stupid. you go over to canada mate and their cars all have oil temp, oil pressure, gearbox temp, gearbox pressure, voltage and coolant temp. thats how it should be done!
Nowadays most modern cars dont even have a coolant gauge ( Vauxhalls )
Demon tweeks sell all sorts of decent quality gauges, racetech are good, but a little expensive.
A pain in the arse to plumb into the car though mate, especially electrical side of things, but if your gonna do it i'd suggest sticking an oil pressure gauge in too, always useful.
Not too experienced in the ph1 market, but seeing as nobodies replying i'll help ya out first :p
Decent ph1 172s go for about £2000 nowadays but your getting alot or motor for your money. Brilliant choice if you ask me, i'd luv a 172 for track days and mileage munching, if i could afford to...
These garlic sleds arent built like the germans mate lol, u gotta treat em with a little bit of respect or they'll just give up on you :p
What you gotta keep in mind is although the water temp gauge may be up and settled it still takes a good 10 mins more to get the oil temp up, as anyone with...
Simplest way to check for binding brakes is drive it for 5-10 mins using the brakes as minimal as possible then get out and feel the rear wheels. If they r binding they'll be hot ( considerably more than the front/or more so than other side if only one caliper is sticking ).
First hand views. And even if it were me partaking in these little drags i shouldnt think the mileage will affect me, seeing as i've beaten a 197 with 18000miles on the clock many times over.
Fair results if u ask me.
Keeping in mind ( sorry to b boring ) but have u ever tried parking or manouvering a car with no PAS? If you use it as a daily drive it'd get tiresome very quickly!
Lol i luv the way ppl try to look into things too much to find a viable excuse for gettin their arse kicked by sumin that shudnt have.
At the end of the day, he had u and thats that :p
Cant hep but think your gonna be dissapointed with the pace coming from a 182 mate, Std 182s can eat 200s for breakkie, i found that out the hard way :(
If your into hardcore motoring then strip it defo, its the best thing i ever did.
I lost 23kg in my rear seat + isofix bar
The missus lost 40kg in her rear seats, isobar and spare tyre/tools.
Its an old car mate, they inevitably lose bhp with the miles, maybe shes just getting tired?
Tried a comp test? if not then try changing your sensor, what u got to lose.
Its to cut off the speed limiter i think.
If your still curious as to what it is get on clio197.net and have a glimpse through the forum, its come up 100s of times there.
Got any pics of the Clio GT? never seen one in the flesh, how does it drive?
Brake pedal travelling so far with nothing happening suggests you need to bleed the brakes.
Even with faulty rear pads you should still get some decent braking through most of the front.
Possibly handbrake sticking? and pads are overheating and then fading, this would explain your travel too (...
People have changed cam followers and all sorts with no results. Like i say even when i picked mine up fresh from the dealer it ticked, not loud but it was there on idle.
Maybe its where the term tick over came from lol :p
