Do these only adjust by the spring? If so you need both of those loose and wound down.

Also, take 2 hammers, GENTLY knock them either side of the locking rings too help break any corrosion too. Lube the s**t out of it so they'll spin easy too.

What you want is a piece of copper bar as a punch. f**king rough c***s!

Gaz.'s Honda Accord Type R (VTEC Kicked in etc)

There's an almost new second hand set of Flexs for sale with the EDFC, I'll sell some wheels after my holiday, hopefully get those. Fortunately these adjust properly, not via the spring seat like the Teins my Mazda had.

Did you have the EDFC? That's supposed to make a world of difference. I don't think that's possible after the Mazda (touch wood)

    Newbie from Harratts Renault Wakefield

Didn't realise there was one in Wakey too. Ah well, that's 3 dealers within spitting distance!

Teins are f**king useless on UK roads, damping rates are fine for Japan's nice smooth roads, but not ours. Plus they adjust height via spring preload, which is a b****cks way of doing it.

Yeah it's a set of Evo 10 Enkeis, off the FQ360 I believe. Might be a little bit big for gay Honda arches but we'll see. BC Racing, MeisterR and XYZ are the other options. They seem to be the flavours of the month AccordR, but I always thought they were a bit "cheap" TBH.

Bought some wheels already lol. Just need to decide what to do coilover wise, HSD don't do Accord fitment, and Bilsteins are half the car's value.

When is an escort not an escort?

Do they even make them big enough to clear those brakes though? This car is awesome in every way.

Lol! Had some grief in town running around various solicitors sorting my mess of a house purchase out, so I thought I'd go the twisty way home. 2nd/3rd gear only, it's an awesome chassis. Love the LSD doing it's job, it's a bit light on the rear under heavy braking but nothing bad. It'll keep...

LOL, it's quite obvious they don't though.

Oh yes, one of the reasons I fancied trying one. Just having to grow up a little, I think my solicitors going bust on Friday gave me a big enough kick up the arse to become more sensible. It'll be spending most of it's time outside the y0 zone.

Not sure if it's Titanium or not. Ah well that solves that riddle! It honestly doesn't need one, there's loads of induction noise. Maybe the air box has been altered in some way.

Yeah it was on AT, he was a genuinely decent bloke. Talked me through the condition over the phone etc. I don't think much can be more of a money pit than the Mazda Andy!

Are these the turbo'd ones? Couldn't believe how shoehorned the supercharged lump is on my mate's, must be a bloody nightmare to work on!

The previous owner is the kind of guy that just pays to get stuff done. I think people forget most normal people don't detail their car to death etc. The interior is nothing, I drove one with 113k that looked miles worse. A good clean will sort most of it out.

It was cheap, but it's not that tatty. Like I said, I was more interested in the mechanicals.

Diesels scare the hell out of me, especially common rail stuff. I'd have preferred Black myself, but they command a premium, and I'm a bit fed up of black showing every defect up. It surprised me that I didn't mind the car. Hell they're not going to win a beauty contest but there's far worse...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suddenly some VTEC fanboy now. I love boost, and always will. However, a drive in my mate's DC5 had changed an opinion formed from driving an EP3, so I thought I'd give these a punt. Sometimes you have to try things again, or try a different variation to get on with...

It doesn't need it, it's got a K&N Panel filter and it's just as throaty as one I test drive with an open cone! Plans, tidy it up, then who knows.

It was becoming obvious I wasn't going to get what I wanted, and if I did it would be a lemon with the money I have. I've a big chunk of money coming my way in a couple of years when shareplans mature, so hopefully I'll have enough for something daft! This ought to tide me over for a while...

Yeah, I have said that! Yeah, or I wouldn't have bought it. Time will tell as to how much I like it though! Well, they pretty much are Taxis aren't they?!

Gaz.'s Honda Accord Type R (VTEC Kicked in etc)

So, in a totally oddball choice for me, I've wound up buying a Honda Accord Type R. In silver too, a colour I generally loathe with a passion! So yesterday I made a 4 hour round trip with the Mrs to Hartlepool, and came back with the car. Pretty much full service history, just rolled over to...

For Daniel - Don't forget, when the suspension compresses it increase negative camber (on cars with proper suspension), so it opens up some clearance as the wheel comes closer to the arch. Looks cracking for paint now dude.

I found with the RX7 coilovers, 10mm on the coil body provided nearly 20mm of drop. So 3", should be enough to make Goodj weep like a child.

    My new rallye

I'll have to ask him if he has any, the car was written off by a young Asian lad about 4 years ago.

I wonder if they get the RX7 right this time.

    My new rallye

Sieve mesh works. We did it on my mate's Glanza when he changed turbos and his air filter wouldn't fit behind the bumper any more.
