Deox Gel is for when you've really stripped it right back to bare bones and there's rust there. Good for injecting into seams etc.
Hydrate 80 is for metal that's been stripped and rust killed, but obviously won't be bare fresh metal.
Electrox is a heavy duty zinc primer, I'd put that onto bare...
Deox Gel kills rust, can't remember what hydrate does. Then you want some electrox zinc primer on, 2 coats for good measure. Dynax, there's a spray for box sections that is s**t hot, S50 IIRC. I'll double check when I've finished watching Aussie V8s.
How far do you want to go?
For a proper job I'd go back to bare metal, take all the seam sealant off kill any rust etc.
Use the Bilt Hamber range, seal seams with a sealant or tiger seal then finish off with a nice rubbery stonechip. I don't like Waxoyl and personally think it's s**t.
I could go out and buy an old V8/10/12 and it would still be cheaper than a Rotary mind!
The VR4 is much cheaper to buy and could be used as a daily, so being back to just 1 car will save me a good wedge of money, plus I'll have a bit in the savings in case anything goes wrong this way.
Nah, I can't afford an import one in a spec I'd like so that's them out of the window.
Off to look at a Mitsubishi Legnum VR4. V6 Twin Turbo Estate with 4WD, what could go wrong?!
She's gone to a new home tonight. My mate has clearly wired the fog up wrong though, as it comes on all the time when the lights are lit, which I only just realised now! Also noticed braking made one bank of lights turn off so had to point that out to the new owner as he was about to drive off...
See that was only 2 years ago, although prices have risen since then, it cost me more to insure my second year through nothing more than premium hikes across the board.
Super jealous still. Noticed 5s are dirt cheap now, just a little worried I might not be able to run one since buying a house. Fuel etc isn't an issue, it's more how much do you keep lying about in case it breaks?
There's not much to the interior, it's stripped with a bucket seat and sprayed satin black, not sure if there's any in his advert.
Regards what to look for, nothing much above a normal turbo car really. VVT rattle is common but rarely an issue, chain driven so no belt change intervals to worry...
I doubt you'd be disappointed, all it's missing is a fresh alignment and it'll be an awesome track weapon.
And the spec is enough that breaking the car would yield a profit over the asking price.
Market's slow as hell, nobody wants 90s RWD Jap turbos unless they're cheap as hell so they can turn them into drift slags. Then the few that don't want to make a drifter usually rock up then tell you they've only got £4k or something stupid, or want to swap for some s**tbox they think is...
