Ph1 engine in a 182 isnt a bad thing but its not worth top 182 money. If its priced right it could actually be a good buy: low mileage 182 body, the best colour with the better ;) ph1 engine.
They are taking the P a bit by ignoring its pointed out problems and continuing to sell it as before...
Did you ring up the previous owner of the car to clarify its history?
The owner probably traded it in, didn't tell dealer about the engine or pedal mods so he got full trade in price.
Sure he hasn't bought it for £300 off ebay, patched it up using any bits of s**t to flog on?
It might be fine but its a buyers market out there and there are 100's of ph1's for sale. If something isnt quite right internally then your 1k car could comfortably be a 2k + one
Pretty sure you have to remove the PAS pulley
Pop the belt back on so you can slacken off the bolt holding it on or remove the whole mount with pump and shove the pulley in a vice and slacken off
Bought a 5 litre bottle of genuine pre mixed Renault type d the other day. Cost exactly a tenner.
Double check to confirm but iirc: blue is type d, red is oat

Ones i used on my Zetec are like the above.
All i did was drill the hole, thread it, put Loctite on...
You don't have a nut inside the sump. Tap the sump, screw the fitting in and locked / sealed in.
If it was to fall off which it wouldn't, it would fall out the way
Top of the sump is fine.
No need to pay silly money on the fittings either.
Go to a engineering place rather than searching anything ''car'' based. I got mine for about £1.50 - Equivalent ones on ebay are a tenner for exactly the same thing
Have you never read on this forum how important it is to have your belts done by age or mileage not through just ''looking'' ?!?!?!
Get the car to a decent garage for a start and brush up on how to look after your car ;)
Do you use the stock Renault head gasket when using over-sized (84mm) pistons?
Just wondering if the piston bore size on the Renault HG would be too small? :o
Cheers
Yours is known as a ph1. Basically a mk1 172
The newer model after that (the Clio Cup style facelift front) is known as a ph2 and then the one with the twin rear exhaust pipes is a 182
