TB's or supercharger? Its a no brainier surely? 4k bolt on charger, touch of ecu mapping off you go. Also sitting on bags more potential power if needed
Yeah - ignore the first crank picture tho as most shouldn't have that. Sure that one is a Laguna item ?
Stock 172 / 182 has a groove right to the tip of the crank as per post 32
Its basically a cog with a raised lug inside which slots into a groove on the end of the crank. The normal 172 / 182 one just slots on and doesn't have a locating lug
Bob down your Renault dealer and ask if you can borrow their cam D clamp tool and bring it to TDC as Laine said to check if the D slots in.
Should only cost you the price of a set of end caps
Yeah i wasn't wanting to go down the race version route. Stock Renault or standard replacement will do me fine.
One of the mains bearings had a substantial groove marked in it but luckily the crank its self escaped damage.
Yeah was going to go ACL on the big ends but not sure about the mains whether its a bit overkill? Yeah ARP essential on the rods :)
Did you get your Wossners fitted Jonny? Read elsewhere on here you were in the process of getting them done
No mate because the damper on the Renault crank auxiliary pulley is built in to the actual pulley.
Guessing Pure just do without a dampener altogether ?
Thanks Chip :) - The only other mods are really cams and headwork so won't be big power. Loosing oil so just rebuilding a whole bottom end.
Would you recommend ACL bearings throughout or stick with Renault stock shells ?
Is he still using home made rollers?
Avoid him if you have a Sport Clio. He knows f**k all about them. Made a right mess of my mapping years ago. Nice chap tho
Whats written on your policy is what your insured for.
If you have stated your mods gains X amount of bhp then your policy should state this, not just generic stainless exhaust.
This is what annoys me about mainstream insurance companies. They want to know from you how much power its going to make yet when you get your policy back it will simple say ''stainless exhaust'' so makes no odds.
Its just a way they make extra cash from punters.
If it was so crucial to know...
Whats the best way to remove rust from inside a engine which has been stood a while?
The piston bores are fine but the oil and cooling ways are rusty.
Would patio / cement acid cleaner be up to the job? or is their anything better to use?
Thanks
Here's mine on its old spec 4 years back running regrind cams, headwork, matched inlets and mapped up. Roughly about the same cost as a RS2 starting from scratch
