On a ph1 ? Very easy.
Fuel rail cover off - unclip fuel line from fuel rail - undo 2x 10mm fuel rail bolts - withdraw fuel rail and injectors from inlet (might take a bit of pulling)
If your handy with the spanners the first thing you should be doing is seeing what the damage is by whipping the head off.
Bottom end might be totally fine.
Not sure what caused your fire but wonder if your fuel line was clipped in properly above the pulleys?
After taking mine for tuning work doing many years back the fuel line wasn't clipped in which resulted in it dropping down rubbing on the auxiliary pulleys till it wore a hole and fuel was...
I took a tank off not long ago and there were particles of debris in it but yeah it wouldn't / shouldn't make the engine as that is what the filters for :S
Fair question IMO
Fella wants 3k's worth of kit and can't pay it off at once.
FFS you'd think he was indifferent to 90% of the population the way folk have been posting :clown:
Is it actually knocking? The video sounds like its humming lol
When mine dropped a bearing it just rattled horrifically.
IMO you need to find out exactly whats wrong before writing the engine off and buying another.
Personally wouldn't give an insurance company the satisfaction of a 8k premium. Being able to afford it isnt really the issue here. Its whether its actually worth it. For a Clio it really isn't.
Nothing wrong with engine transplants if its N/A to Turbo charged for example. This idea is just a waste of time though. You could tune a Clio to 220bhp for all the fitting and hassle it would cost. Supercharging option is available also for the Clio so makes the whole idea a complete no brainer
The ph2 looks too much like the out going models where as if you see a ph1 behind you you can instantly tell its a Sport, same at the back infact.
Ph2 just has a more refined look. Its a bit like Escort RS turbo series one VS series 2. The S1 just looks miles more ''Hot hatch'', same apply's...
Yeah but then your going to need a remap and ideally a exhaust and a better filter and by that time your hitting the £1000 mark
Best option imo is decat and weight loss
Im running 428's and used to run Pipers and the Pipers are far far better low down. Pull in any gear at crazy low rpm. 428's are a lot higher up the rev range compared
Its only worth buying a shitter if your a dab hand with the spanners :)
Shitter + parts = nearly the cost of a good one if your doing it the garage way
