Facetime doesn't use any extra minutes per say, but you still need to make a call to do facetime so they were sorta right.. depending on which way you look at it.

Updated to 4.1 am getting the same signal level as before but the phone seems even faster now which suprised me as it was already pretty fast being an Iphone 4. Thank fook they fixed the proximity sensor though as half way through calls my face would mute the call... or put it on hold heh..

Connect your computer directly to your modem, not through a router and I bet your problem will go away.. I've seen some shite routers buckle under multiple threaded downloads.. Normally through bit torrent though.

try reducing the number of parts per file that it splits it down to... and try reducing the number of simultaneous downloads, see if that resolves it.
