Both.
Done a wireshark packet capture on server 2. It definitely receives icmp packets from server 1 but doesn't seem to send a reply :S
Source MAC and dest MAC are correct in the ICMP packets. :S :S
Here is a strange one for you.
Server 1 - Primary Domain Controller (192.168.1.1/24)
Server 2 - Centralised File server (192.168.1.2/24)
Server 1 can NOT ping server 2, server 2 CAN ping server 1.
Every other server and workstation can ping both servers. There are no firewalls running, and...
A better way to put it would be..
At first it needs to ask the other end constantly if it got each "parcel" ok. Once it knows the delivery is quite reliable it only asks now and again leaving more time to actually send the "parcels"
;) :P
Nice copy/paste ;)
It's TCP 101, best effort delivery.
And just to be picky the connection doesn't "speed up" it just increases throughput due to lower overheads :P
lol.. thread of lazyness or what ?
I wouldn't say it takes 2 minutes to setup.. more like hours depending on complexity but it's a good learning experience ;)
Was just gonna say.. bollox to all that going into the bios and flashing pisch..
Just reset it in the Dell OpenManage interface.. takes 1 minute tops. The first thing I do when either an smtp alert or I notice a dell server with an orange backlit LCD is fire up Openmanage.
Having administered cisco phones a lot, the simple answer is very easily if it's an authorised person..
The phones have an inbuilt switch (to allow you to connect your computer to the phone) and it tags all voip frames onto their own vlan.
Forget all your packet capture jokers on here.. good...
Is it just me who thinks.. I just wont buy Tiger woods ? or any other game like that.. sure EA might be a big player.. but there are other games out there !
You know there is a section called "Phones and Internet" on here right ?
Did you know orange do phones ?? have you tried telling them you are receiving slow service ? if it's the line then it wont matter who you go with !
Re: iPhone 4G (No longer rumours)
Currently running a shitty 2G iphone.. can't wait to upgrade to a 4G my contract expires just in time :D
I personally like the look of the new iphone.. although the HTC 4G does look nice also !
You get bang on 50mbit because you are actually on 53mbit down and 1.75mbit up. Take TCP overheads into account and that gives you around 50mbit of actual throughput ;)
BTW my 50mbit was slow yesterday but seems to be okay today... maybe there was an issue ?
LOL, they are built correctly.. it's just windows being pissy doing random things that nobody asked them to.
The linux boxes 'just work' in that if you get the set up the way you want them and running sweet.. they will continue to run like that until a hardware failure.
Am liking Windows 7 a...
I have a Mythtv backend in my loft that can record 8 stations at the same time.. and with over 5TB of RAID5 storage it have plenty of recording time ;)
This is pumped over gigabit ethernet, Wireless-N and homeplug adapters to 4 frontends around the house.
I heart MythTV :D
By latest I hope you mean the not long released 10.04 :approve:
I am upgrading my system to it as we speak so I will let you know my thoughts on it.. they changed it to apple mac style window buttons (on the left instead of right) so that might take some getting used to.
Boot times are...
