More BHP for a new Renault Clio Sport 2.0

no this is an oldish subject. theres talk of launching a 180hp version of the 172 by the end of this year in France and the french sites have got plenty of pics of twin centre exhaust cars etc. I dont know if this is true or hype, some of the Renault guys on this site can tell. In any case I...

Should I get this car or .......

dont do it. youd be paying £20k for an old model when an extra £3-4k will get you a new one (sorry oops, a demonstrator). Youll regret having gone for the mk1 model everytime you see a mk2. Wait 6 months, book yourself a demo car at your local dealer and get a mk2.

    Induction for Cup 172

yes best idea by far. It will cost you £35 or so and youre spoilt for choice: ITG, Green, BMC. The extra £150-180 is not really justified for a BMC or viper unless you want the noise. Funnily, noisy induction is very useful sometimes as a "get out of my way" signalling device on track. No such...

    Clearance on 16 Cup Turinis

k-tec mentioned they were having some difficulty fitting their Brembo 305/28 and apparently needed a 17" wheel?? I dont understand because in theory 16" wheels will give you clearance up to 315mm no probs. Personally Im thinking AP racing, who have a 4pot + disc conversion and 295mmx25mm grooved...

    Clearance on 16 Cup Turinis

Thought this topic came up already but I drew a blank on my search. Anyway, anybody measure up clearance on the cup wheels for max disc size + calipers? theoretically the standard 280mm discs (28mm wide pls confirm) could be uprated to 300mm or so. I also tried finding some 4 pot calipers that...

Is there a legal limit on exhaust noise

circuits will impose noise limits between 93 and 103 dBA, typically measured 50 cm from the car at 2/3 max revs. Without a mid silencer you will find it difficult meeting those thresholds. I have opted for a silencer on the k-tec exhaust and with the induction kit, I get about 94 dBA. If you...

    KTR RAMCHARGER INDUCTION KIT

see other related post above. Hows this kit different from the standard airbox? what are you paying £104 for?? The viper/BMC allegedly provide heat insulation by using carbon fibre, and they contain a less restrictive element. The kit above is a plastic box and does not have the same...

    BMC Filter

to comment on dashs point about filter improvements, original etc. My first mapping + RR of the car was done AFTER exhaust/BMC/Unichip, so unfortunately I cant comment objectively on any improvements made by fitting the BMC. I can however give you my impressions: I strongly suspect that the...
