Im more than happy with the performance of my 16v as i kept with clean16vs very fast vavler after his immediate leap 3 yards ahead due to coilovers and 195 tyres in a 1st and 2nd gear change drag race at a certain Thursday nite cruise in south Manchester. Altough im sure his extra power would...
Good standard 16v like mine at present, but ive just ordered my Speedline Chrono 16" in white. Although the original phase 2 wheels are half decent i personally dont think they look as nice on a Black valver. Not considering putting any new alloys on her?
Id have thought its all in the mind if you r a REALLY paranoid person. Cause as you get the total feel for the car, you seem to notice tiny imperfections and then magnifie them. Happened to me in my 16v a little but theres absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Id also imagine your accelaration is...
Will do that a lot! Worst with worn fronts and good rears cause your fecked if u have to make a sharp turn and go straight on. So its better to have slicks on the rear, but itll come stright quite easy just keep the power on. :devilish:
Is tracking simply lining the wheels and steering wheel in a perfect straight position?
Or, does it help reduce uneven tyre wear or balance and therefore handeling of the car?
I thought it just made your steering wheel in line with the direction of the wheels, but someone i know suspects...
Yeah, still never count your chickens when its Turbod cause they may have jus slaped an almighty wind turbine under the bonnet. Still, well done for rising to the challenge.
Ok then, but my Mums Mk4 Golf has superb handeling, really can take corners at much higher speeds than the Mk1/2. This is probably to improve safety when in trouble. However it really isnt a rewarding drive, you dont feel connected to the car like you do even in a Megane for instance.
Now id...
So people; is the Timing belt not also the cam belt? Im really clueless about this but i dont want my engine out when i get it serviced next month.
At 50k i had a new alty and cam belt put in, but nothing down for timing belt. Humm. Any anwsers? Cheers.
Right, u must have used the only example out their to (dis) prove ur point mate. I used to own a Mk3 Golf in standard form and i agree that they are sh*t handeling cars with more lean than Michael Jackson, but then again the Mk3 VR6 has got to be better than any Mk1/2. The 205 in its day was a...
Yeah, thatd make the 16v/Willy the example of a perfect car.
Ill have to think about a BB turbo, but its gonna cost more than buying and modding an R5 and will still be potentially slower. Hum. Its stupid to want to change from a 16v to a R5 in theory but with mods; HOW QUICK R R5s! Nuff said.
Id rather save the pennys, if u want a change, u could look for a mint Williams/Punto GT Turbo/Fiesta RS Turbo/R5 GTT/CRX Del Sol/MR2 Turbo.
There the cars id be considering over a new one for price reasons mainly.
A walk in the park, a 172 need not worry against a 1.3, never back down either cause any hatch would have to be special to beat a 172 mate, and if it did then, itd be no shame.
I raced a Scooby WRX last week, a 16vs first gear is very close to a Scooby Turbos (in a rolling start...
I think my poor consump is down to the IK at higher speeds forceing massive amounts of air then as a result petrol into the engine when i floor it. The top end pick-up massivley improved when the PiperX replaced the K&N, but my wallet doesnt seem to like it as much.
A VTS has gotta have better handeling than a 16v cause its newer and had millions spent on developing its handeling from where the 16v left of!
I also thought the book on a Punto GT was 8 something and ive seen one drag race and it looked nowhere near a 16v of the mark, but i surpose like the...
Rust! Its all plastic mate.
The mud gaurds are held on by pathetic plastic fasteners which u can slide off with force. Its a 30sec job but it will make ur car look nicer. ;)
