I spotted a clean looking mk2 172 parked up at the side of the road in the tree lined avenue at kelvingrove yesterday. (Saturday) It had a private plate on it and a cliosport sticker in the back window just like me.

Well im hoping that sort of consumption is normal and I dont really want to take it to my local dealer for them to take the engine to bits when they cant even fix a cd-player! Cheers anyway Fraser

I think I might have a problem with my 172 cup, it seems to be using a bit of oil and its only done 19000 miles! I may have slightly overfilled the oil when topping it up (roughly 2000 miles ago) and it seemed to blow some out on the top of the engine. I cleaned it up thinking no more of it, but...

I couldnt see the driver as I was too far behind but he was def a cliosport member with a larger sticker on the back window. Im in town driving quite a bit and I see lots of 172s 182s and cliosport members.

It was a mk 2. Looked nice and clean too.

Any ideas who this could be? Looked a completely standard mk2 172 apart frrom big cliosport badge on rear window.

They are probably using the reg 182 for the insurance quote which is why its £400 cheaper.

Well it doesnt look like they have done anything. Reset the cd player(needed replaced) Dont have the part for the handbrake And nothing seems to have been tightened up in relation to the heatsheild as it still makes the noise! Argh!

Yeah it might have been worse. I had just got the car and was sh*tting myself that I was going to write it off, and I managed to miss the smashed up cars at the side of the road by pumping the brake pedal and steering between them. Def a brown trouser moment!
