Cheers Michael, Ill see what the guys at my local dealership do for me as they gave me a big discount off my service! Im put off buying exhausts, coilovers etc for the moment due to the warranty and insurance hastles!
But a stainless exhaust would be nice......
You will need to let me see it...
Ive noticed a resonance from what seems to be the centre section of the exhaust on my 172 cup. It only seems to happen when you hold the revs at 4k or above or back off the revs.
I was reading through the evo long term tests on their 172 cup and it seems like they had the same problem. Has...
Some people rave about the CTR but in my opinion they dont offer the same feedback and excitement that a cup offers. Ive had a shot against them on the 1/4 mile and they werent that quick for having 200bhp, i ended up getting faster times. They are also alot more common on the roads than a cup...
Phew thats a relief! I wouldnt have thought the car would be running very well now if it only had 30 miles on it. Mine has 18k miles on it and its getting faster and faster!:D

It must have been lying around for a while to have only 30 miles on it! Cups have been out of production for two years I think.Check for rusty rear brake disks as mine snapped in two due to it sitting outside for a while!
Fraser
But whatever 172 cup you go for I dont think you will regret it! I dont! *Touches wood*;)
You will notice that the cup will feel a bit faster in a straight line than the gti (0-60 in 6.5 secs) and it is a bit roomier which is good for me! (6ft 6)

Yeah it might be.... But I wouldnt worry too much as long as it has a bit of warranty left. My car had 20 miles on it when i took delievery but was pre registered. However my bro who works in a car dealership said that the garage is allowed to put the mileage back down as long as it doesnt go...
Ooooh jon has the limited edition silver cup with climate. If I could have got that one I would have. I like the colour of my cup (blue) but the resale of the silver will be slightly better due to the limited numbers.
Very nice car jon. Good luck with the sale!

You will be too busy smiling every time you drive it to worry about the slight effect on resale having an extra owner in the log book. I know it doesnt bother me! And i still think the clio cup 172 is the best looking clio of the current shape, appart from the V6!

I live in Scotland and the air con would not be needed. I just prefer having the slightly tricker car which is a bit sharper as well. I think that if your going for a hot hatch you have to go for the stripped out option to get the full experience!
Anyway its my personal opinion!
Fraser
It will have a slight effect on future sale price but i got my cup for £10k brand new nearly 2 years ago with 20 miles on the clock. Which I thought was quite good!
Ive had my cup for 1 1/2 years now and i love it! Im just trying to stop myself from modding it as I want to keep my warranty intact. Just had a couple of little probs such as the rear disk snapping in two and the cd-player making a nice rattling noise when you turn the ignition!
Check for...
I got my new pre reg 53 clio 172 cup from renault. I think a large majority of them were like that near the end of their life. The number plate has "renault to go" on it which confirms that renault pre-registered it.

Lol, maybe not with that but standard. Do you not agree though that with the V you could give it more off the line without setting the tyres on fire?;)
When I did my first 1/4 mile i found it very tricky with my fwd 172 cup to get the launch right, I either bonfired my front tyres or bogged...
From my experience of 1/4 miling the fwd cars are much more difficult to get a fast launch from as the weight shifts off the driven wheels and all you get is wheelspin. The extra weight of the v6 will hurt it and when the 172/182 gets traction I think it would reel the V back in. I have seen in...
A 172, 182 will out corner a V at a track day. But in terms of straight line performance the V has just got it licked. I would rather have a V than a 182, or 172 or trophy though just cos they are so special.
Oh and a V will generate alot more grip off the line due the shift of weight over the...
I think its more exotic and the sound of a v6 would def do it for me. You also wouldnt need to thrash the hell out of it all the time as it has more torque than the 182.
I def would have a v6 over my 172 cup if someone offered me one.
Oh and BTW the mags say that its 0-60 time is 5.8 secs...
You might struggle at the moment as there still isnt a huge amount of kit for the 182. You could try demon tweeks or something as im sure last time I looked they had a large stock of strut braces.
Im not into ice really either, just want a nice h/u with ipod adapter! If you got a ipod you would never need a cd again! I was sick of my cds getting scratched and broken in the car.
