Believe that Vee died a few years back now. Cant remember the story but it had rear end damage and due to the cost of repair on the rear 1/4 it was wrote off.
Theres been a number of turbo'd 172 / 182's kicking about for years now without serious issues and theres far more stresses with a turbo'd unit than a SC one.
Tuners will pretty much know what parts of the F4r are weak and whats not and as a result set the boost levels accordingly.
If you think even bolting a highly tested component kit or part etc safe guards against any engine failure / fault full stop then you'll be waiting a very long time..
Stock engines have been tried and tested but still things go wrong at unexpected times from one car to the next.
True but the final result will be just about the same cash outlay, maybe more, less BHP and capped potential.
Supercharger 4k running safe levels, uprate bottom end etc potential for 400BHP apparently
Yeah thats right mate.
Yeah probably best to or use it as a bargaining tool if they havent been done, although really you'd have to knock a fair whack off to bring it to your advantage, 700ish imo
On the mechanics front, make sure the cambelts been done to schedule or ideally just been done and by Renault or a specialist. Very expensive to do unless its a Cup.
Yozza is apparently lighter but the difference im guessing is only 1 or 2 kgs between them which wouldnt make a difference at all and you dont really get BHP gains on a N/A set up with a exhaust.
Their popular because no one can see past them...
Photo's wise the Turini's look bigger so look better. If your after looks then stick with the Turini's. If your after driveability then 2118's.
2118's in white would be win win against the blue.
182's are the slowest of the Sports. Their a great girlfriend car tho
OP, stick with the Cup imo. You wont go far wrong. Cheaper to maintain, on paper the fastest outside the V's, lightest, look cool too.
Ph1 172 after that and if your feeling flush then a Trophy.
Its very easy to sit behind a computer screen and see ''4k'' and quotes of 250 bhp etc and draw up a conclusion. Unless youve been in one you'll never understand just how ballistic these things really are with a Supercharger conversion.
1k's worth of bottom end upgrade and you'd probably be able to run 300+bhp's worth of boost through the Clio engine anyway!
IIRC these Supercharger conversions are pegged back to safe levels not maxing out
Does your mate know how much Renault ones cost? If he dosent he'll soon have second thoughts about the deal LOL
TBH its like swaping one turd for another. Either way your going to be no better off :o
