I needed at least a 10mm spacer to be safe on the fronts when I ran V-Maxx with 172 wheels on my 1.2.
It depends on the coilover, the ride height and the camber.
^ What gun you using? We've got a Snap On item at work and it's pretty fecking powerful tbf but I've still seen myself having to use a breaker bar to undo some wheel nuts.
Who's this Jamie character you speak of Danny? ;)
Halfords, biggest breaker bar they've got, 19mm impact socket, and throw all your weight on it. Obviously while the car is still on the deck.
LOL thanks.
Anyway, I've no idea how 172 alloys are managing to rub on 40mm springs when mine didn't on 60mm. If it turns out they are however then the biggest spacer you can pretty much fit are 15mm each side, they won't rub off the bodywork on 40mm springs.
Well, if you do get it stripped down and it is confirm that the car is f*cked, I wouldn't be mentioning to the garage you bought it from that someone else has poked at it. Regardless of the legality of it all, you know for certain they'll just use it as another excuse to make things as long and...
Working in a bodyshop myself I'd be inclined to say a £700 colour change respray would be sh*t. My place wouldn't even entertain it for less than £2k, it's not worth the hassle for any less than that.
I'd love to be proved wrong though.
213 sounds a bit exaggerated to me for those mods, especially with no printout.
Don't bother with the K&N Induction kit, the standard airbox on these cars are pretty much spot on, changing them usually just means lost power.
Do not let any other garage near it, don't even bother faffing about with it yourself, take it straight back to them. They'll only use you touching it as an excuse to try and get out of it.
Fair enough mate, just incase you never realised. Wrong grill is a good excuse to get one off a 172/182 and stick that on, much better looking. As for other plans, get coilies and deck it :D
I've got an Alpine HU with Ipod connection that I've had since my first car over 3 years ago, still works as perfectly as the day I bought it. The Ipod connection feeds through to the glovebox, plug it in, shut the glovebox and control the Ipod via the headunit, top bit of kit.
