Pretty much exactly what I was thinking...
Try Memtest first (probably not as faulty ram would probably cause random failures at different places)
Then different optical drive and if you can different optical media
then do a full drive test.
I will be testing W7 come its public release if it passes my tests i will push it out to my Guinea pig group of users, if all goes well with them I will look to push it out to the rest of the company, but your probably talking 1 year after public release date.
XP is now pretty tried and...
Ye I read your earlier post about Sem 4, but am actually looking forward to it strangely :S. I actually found VLSM interesting although I really hate Hexidecimal, without a calculator that really does my head in lol !
You got any plans post CCNA ? anymore training ? I still don't know where...
^ having 7 years working in networking experience and being a Senior Network Engineer is going to count for a lot more than a CCNA TBH, but it can't hurt to have it ;)
Have to agree with you on this one, i'm just about to submit an order to Dell for some more E6500's with HSDPA/3G and 9 cell's. My only gripe is the E series is not backwards compatible with the D series port replicators.. ack well.
I don't like the fact I need to speak to India, but to be...
Was your old TV freeview capable. Some ariels are not capable of properly receiving freeview.
if your distributing the signal to multiple places you really need to get a distribution amplifier (and make sure it will handle freeview frequencies.)
Vista is easy to do hotfixes now though isn't it ? they have properly designed the hotfixes to integrate correctly, post SP3 on XP certainly is anyway.
I haven't really spent a lot of time with Vista as I control the software within my company and I've already said we wont be touching Vista...
Ah, good stuff.
Ye its all about the money.. then when they come back and complain you have to remind them about that money they wanted to save last year ;)
Thankfully the director in my company actually listens and has a bit of I.T. background.. so when I put a 5 figure order in he is...
VLSM are a b**ch lol.. why can't I just use a calculator lol..
Got my Sem 2 exam on Monday so guess I better get studying.. finding it quite interesting though.
Faulty ram ? check bios settings are correct ?
If both servers are identical and you doing doing the same for both the only remaining possibility is a hardware fault.
Ye, subnetting is a b**ch.. until you 'get' it.. then its pretty easy. Again, the way cisco explain it is overcomplicated rubbish.. I ended up finding a really helpful CCIE on youtube that explained it in plain english.. easy after that.
works quite well TBH.
My first search for "Microsoft Sucks" took me straigt to MicrosoftSucks.org and my subsequent search for "Google is better" took me right to google
Totally agree with you, I'm self study (3 hours per week I have access to a CCIE) and its killing me. The way the CCNA study material is laid out is redicuolous and not in any way helpful.
I read pages and pages of material not really understanding it.. and when I finally get it I think...
