Exactly, didn't bother with the demo, didn't need to. ME is also weird in that it is amazing but I only played each through once and left it at that. No exploration of other avenues or "what ifs". I treated the games like it was real life, and did what I would do if I was given the options...
I want to play Skyrim first...as I will probably never play it again if I stop now.
Tempted to take a few days off work to play this. At 27, is this considered sad???
Getting some ridiculously good reviews so far, saying taking the trilogy as a whole it is the most important game ever etc, and that it has revolutionsised what games could be (e.g. personalised yet epic story telling, solid gameplay etc etc).
Mine is pre-ordered, just got the standard version...
I am 110 hours in now and level 47...to anyone who has got to level 80 and not done that book glitch thing...that is insane! Still lots for me to do though:
- all the quests, obviously!
- Romance a lady...
- Get the remaining masks (got 3/9 so far)
- Get the remaining shouts (probably at least...
There's a lot of bugs though still, more as you go further in. For example quests starting then being "stuck" if you have done another quest which contradicts it or stops is from happening. Really annoying as the quests are then permanenlty in your list and you can't get rid of them!
Sadly think it is the way of the industry now...but I think I used to pay like £40 for a game on my Megae Drive which perhaps lasted me 2 or 3 weeks at most (could complete a lot of games on the day you purchased it). Now 15-20 years later games cost the same money so with inflation are actually...
That's how the publishers are stopping second hand sales and encouraging "premium" versions...think this is the future unfortunately.
Not long now though!
I have done about 100 hours on the dot and level 45 now...and that's with lots of messing about along the way (I spend WAYYY to much in my home in Solitude arranging all my trinkets everywhere!)
The spam iron dagger semi exploit though levelled me up pretty quickly though, and now conjuration...
Yeh unless you get more trader perks then you can only sell a few at a time, and probably end up like me with a massive inventory of them to store in your house or whatever. Best off making it into armour and enchanting it then selling it so you get some smithing and enchantment skill levelling too.
Best bet is to just stick with something for a while...e.g. 2 handed, or 1 handed and a shield, or 1 handed and a type of magic (destruction, conjuration or restoration etc) and level those for a while. Then later on start developing other skills out.
As for armour I think it is best to...
Yeh earlier on in my career it was weird, go to one fight and win easily, go to another and get smashed. A couple of times I resorted to lowering the difficulty for the fight (if after several goes I couldn't do it) then increasing it afterwards. What character you playing as?
Yeh dragons are easy after a while but give you some decent cash and the bones/scales are worth a bit to sell or make armour from. After 90 odd hours I should probably do a bit more of the main mission, it has been so long though since doing any I have pretty much forgotten what it is except...
Well I have done 90 hours so far, and probably about 10 of that was doing mininig, smithing and my particular favourite...streamlining my inventory!!! Also some bits where I have been wandering around aimlessly, can't find where I need to go...and just generally messing around. Another 90 hours...
It is now a race to finish the whole game before Mass Effect 3 arrives, personally I think I am going to struggle! I have only played about 3 hours of Xbox this week too, very disappointing. Need to put a shift in over the weekend for sure. Noticed my lockpick skill is still only 17...so weak in...
Right, think this game is glitched...tried using the ivory claw (eagle, eagle, dragon) and door still won't open. Also doors being locked in towns when they shouldn't be is happening way more often.
Suppose it is testamenet to the game though that despite these ANNOYING glitches, I am still...
Yeh but I don't know which claw it is you're meant to use mate, that's the issue! And if you don't have a claw, can you open the door if you just have the code?
I tried to look Chris! Apparently you need a claw but not sure which one, and also the code I found was Eagle, Eagle, Dragon - but I tried that and still get shot by arrows!
Doing the quests where you have to reforge an amulet, for the Forbidden Legend quest. I go to Reachwater Cave, and open the first door with the emerald claw you pick up, but then there's a second door you need a claw to open - and can't find it anywhere?! Is this a glitch, or am I missing...
For me the main type of enemies which kick me in the proverbials are mages...not quite sure why as I am also a mage, but I guess me wearing armour which offers little magic resistance doesn't help.
Got a few more restoration spells last night too, one that heals you almost instantly is pretty...
I am pretty sad then, all my current armour and weapons are Nightshade class, all Mercurio's are Chaos - apart from being very geeky it means it is all grouped next to each other too in the inventory. Did I mention geeky...?! :)
