Well it's nearly all blue and yellow, put blue on the shell tonight with andy.
Have found loads of other probs bent front hub, steering rack, rear stub axle and I'm sure we will find more.
Got the seeding for the rally last night and we are no 17 out of 94 cars, so we had better be quick out of...
Had a good afternoon on the car today, Andy was on with it before me sanding down the filler on the rear quarter. I have filled were the trims fit on as I don't put them on to keep it simple.
Also had a look at the front wheel as it had a lot of camber and think the hub is bent, so I'll pull...
When we first built the car we ran a large single throttle bodie (of a BMW) which was great but power peaked at 7k, so we fitted 42mm bike throttle bodies which then let her power peak at 7800 but after a while relised that they were to long and were restricted by the bonnet. So at's were fitted...
Here's the spec for those who like to dream.
Clio shell.
stripped of all luxury including heater low dash Excess steel (but not enough to weaken you never know she may roll:S).

All seam welded with axle stand pionts on...
Action is the Xmas stages at Croft on the 2nd of Jan 2010 so finger is well and trully pulled out.
Once the painting is done shouln't take to long to build her back together.
Looking good, interesting chioce going for billies are they adjustable?, just that I adjust the rear shockers on every event as you can dial out the rear ends lack of grip on different venue's.
His car is Clubman spec group B like mine, so the rules are flexable regarding most things eg brakes, transmission, inlet manifold, etc etc. The only event he won't be able to do is rally GB Wales.
Yes that sounds the best way to start. must admit I have never tryed them gr n ones. Rough single venues are the worst smooth venues like race curciuts are fine
6 yrs of rallying have broken 4 and thats replacing after every event:(
Scot Faulkner had some for sale, You have to make a bolt and spacer to make them fit.
You said you have bought bush kit for front suspension, the only one that needs replacing is the bottom ball jiont with the clio cup race car uniball, all the original bushes are strong enough.
Good luck with your project looks well.
Look's a good laugh mate I rally a 172 and I know the 172 hub and calipers wont fit, I would would just try some comp brake pads high temp one's, remove the fog lamp's to let more air in and use them open wheels on the front.
Looks good Scot, if you get to the end of the Pendragon with a result and with out breaking down you will of built a very good car I haven't finnished it yet:cry::cry:
Icarus Hutchie was is in volved with the Rally car and is right when he says that the flat shift is conected to the display, however he failed to say that it is also conected to a switch on the front of the gear linkage as you will know. In our eyes the gear change is almost seamless with gear...
Hutchies quoting how much mine cost. flat shift and display were a little etc from Geartronic. if you put the gearstick in backwords then it fits RHD
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
On our old R11 rally car, that had the old clio 16v gearbox in and before we put an lsd in we made up a plate that fixed with 6 studs and had a fospra bronze bearing in place of the clip. It meant alot of work and if you have to do that much...
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
If its the clip don't replace it and then give it abuse at the track again cos once they jump out thats it, will allway come out when getting big stick:dapprove:
Re: Valver Track Car Project Thread
Looks a nice car, thought of rallying one of these about 7yrs ago but went the 172 way instead.
Do you have any idea on how much it weighs?
