RAID1 is only slower at writes. There is a performance boost when reading.
RAID10 ( 1 + 0 ) is the best solution for speed/redundancy but is most expensive and has the biggest loss of usesable space (50%)
RAID5 has a minium of 3 drives and single drive failure redundancy, its highest loss of...
The maximum size of a single file is 4GB yes.
You could split the files to smaller chunks, but other than that there is now way around it. You could also convert the drive to NTFS ? but then you may loose the ability to read the contents on other systems.
GF has the Iphone and I have the N95
Personally I couldn't live with the Iphone. In a specification comparison the Iphone really is s**t lol. I understand why some people might like it.. I mean all that marketing hype is aimed at certain people for sure..
I love my N95 which I have had since...
If not you can set it to wake-on-lan then send a magic packet to wake it up using a scheduled task or a cron job. All the system in my work are set to shut down after working hours if there is no-one logged on, then at 7am in the morning a magic packet is send to the broadcast IP waking them all up.
Actually, a better analogy would be walking into HMV, copying the disc at your expense, and walking out with the copy. Leaving the original completly sealed and untouched.
Well if you want to go there, there is a battery for the eee pc that will last 10+ hours lol.
The memory is standard laptop style memory. PC2300 IIRC. Processor is a 900mhz underclocked to 600mhz but you can unlock it via software and it doesnt affect battery life.
600mhz is more than enough...
You should try to keep at least 10% free on the system drive.
Storage space is cheap nowadays, 1TB drives are £90 nowadays.. that should keep you going for a bit ;)
I bought 2 of the 4GB ones.
They are very cool for what they are, xandros boots in less than 10 seconds, powers off in less than 5, I found it too restrictive though so installed xubuntu. Strangely battery life on xandros seemed to be about 2 hours.
On my optimized version of Xubuntu I...
I've never had a better desktop experience than on my Linux systems.
I hate OSX as it tries to simplify everything. Which is fine for some folk, but not me.
^^
Exactly, the only way they can keep you is if you move to another area in which they can offer you the same service. They are changing the service they provide hence you are able to escape the contract with no penalty.
Tell them to get shafted TBH.
PS. Phones and Broadband probably would...
When I say jumpy I mean it has a bit of a flat sport around 2500-3000rpm. During this period the rev limiter is also lowered.
Idle is slightly higher than normal during this period IIRC.
Does it only do it for the first 5 minutes ?
Due to the emissions thing on startup the ecu has a 'cold' program which makes the car a bit jumpy for the first few minutes.
