I just feel sorry for all the MS fans that bought the HD-DVD addons. But to be honest the 'add-on' drive was a stupid idea anyway it should have been in the console from day one like sony have done for the PS3.
Unfortunately thats one area that hasn't really improved over the last year. The sad thing is, most games that are available in windows and linux run better (more FPS) in Linux. Also, when a windows games need a game server most of the time the server part of the game is linux.

IIRC you can do it via the computer manager snap-in under drive manager.
Just right click the drive you want to change and select 'change drive letters and paths' then select an empty NTFS folder to mount to.

Your laptops resolution must be at least *x720 where * represents the horizontal resolution.
Ideally set the resolution as close to 1280x720 as you can.
Presumably you have power from the same source as the house. Have you thought about using the mains networking kit you can buy nowadays..

Providing you have the basics... eg. playstation and PC networked. Just install a Upnp server and your PS3 will find it automatically.
Set the Upnp server to share the video folder and you PS3 will automatically be able to stream the videos while playing. That way you don't need to copy them...
