I think the problem is that the plastics used on the 172/182s and all mk2 Clios is very cheap and nasty.
Surrounds on German cars, especially BMWs and Porsches, is miles better. I hate the window surrounds on the Clios especially!
Next time I would save your money and use it on a proper detail - where your paint will be properly cleaned, machine corrected (new cars can look terrible, especially darker ones) and protected with a decent wax. They should also be able to advise you of a system you will be able to do yourself...
For that, probably £150, although all depends on who is doing it really. Didn't require much paint correction, but did a thorough job throughout and used some top of the range products.
I would charge about £100 for that, but only because I don't do it for a living, and £100 for a days work is...
What, the interior kit and "aftercare" shampoo/maintainer pack?
TBH we used to charge a rather immoral £250 for it. My boss loved it, a we used to have to work our b****cks off for very little profit most the time. We used to offer to do it on the wheels for an extra £50 too. I mean, don't get...
Will it fit onto this Halfords model though Riz? Thats what I am after though, lots of lovely foam...mmm!
ATM moment using a hose with Super Spray attachment and CG Maxi Suds and Snow Foam, which works pretty well on cleanish cars, but want more power for dirtier cars, wheels and arches...
Badly oxidised paint is really tough to work on, there is loads of friction and just generally a bad experience. Once your rid though its very satisfying. Not really sure why it seems to happen most often on red cars, although sure someone with more knowledge of paints might have an idea.
That...
^ I tried some SRP on an old red Escort and required the strength of ages just to get a little bit off...only recommended for those with pneumatic arms!
There are much easier ways.
Cool cheers Hoff...yeah don't really know how a plastic lance can break unless it has been treated badly, I will take good care of it.
For £50 its a bargain IMO, you are saving at least £50 of the RRP and should be just as good as the Karcher, or almost.
Did you try the detergent tank bit...
What you chatting about now eh?! ;)
Well, it might just be a bigger block, doubt it works any better than the products you can buy for a lot cheaper. The clay itself won't make your car any better though, if anything it will be slightly worse, it just cleans it properly so you can polish on a...
SRP won't be abrasive enough I would imagine.
Why use Tcut when there are better choices for the same money though?! It makes no sense. Look at the links in the sticky on the main page, there will be loads of choices on those. I use Menzerna polishes personally and work brilliantly in all the...
Superguard et all are just profit makers for dealers. I imagine you paid over £200 for the whole application? Well, it will cost them £40 or less to buy and less than an hour to apply. Plus it doesn't last any longer than a decent sealant system. People are lead to think that it will mean their...
Yeah...but it leaves a horrible fine layer of scratches all over your car and eats into the clearcoat. There is no need to use Tcut, there are much better performing alternatives on the market.
Wax definitely won't help! You will need a polish, preferabl via machine to make your life easier.
Otherwise I think Carlack do a good hand kit, which I think someone posted a week or so ago...
Depends how much you are willing to spend really...?
Blackfire is best I have used. Leaves a gloss/ matte finish depending how much you use, but the blackness lasts for a month at least. Worth the extra money.
Anyone seen this?
Clicky
Was thinking of buying a Karcher but this seems a lot better in price and spec than the equivalent in their range.
Does anyone know if the Karcher Foam Attachment will work with this also?
Could be a rather geeky Christmas present!
New Look leaves a glossier finish I think, but not as long lasting. I only use New Look to finish off my tyres these days, and some areas in the engine bay.
Lovely car and good write up.
And its settled it, I WILL get the Black Wow, even if its not amazingly durable as I had hoped for!! Living on the edge...
I think if he told you it was £100 he is lying...never seen anything for more than £15 for a huge bar...so have a word if they are making out they are doing you a massive favour.
Let me know how you get on..don't want to scratch that car of yours do you?! ;)
iPhone is a rubbish idea. Takes ages to write a text, terrible camera, and general lack of phone features that you would expect as standard.
Get a decent handset from an established producer, and then get an iPod Touch (although they are expensive and have a small hard disc).
I was nearly...
I called them and the customer services guy was really cool, advised me to turn 3g connection of and just use normal service. He was very sympathetic with me as he has the same difficulty where he lives, but there isn't a lot you can do.
Its not really like buying a video game at all, because...
Cool nice one, I will give this a try next time I am working and see what its like.
Let us know the long term durability of WOW though if you remember Rich, ta.
I don't have Titanium or Carbon, but I imagine the trusty 476s will do the same job a long as its used very thinly?
I used to wax my glass but found it went a bit hazy sometimes in the summer. Might work better now in the winter.
And yes...hungry. Not quite sure why? Pavlov would have a field...
