Just to save the Chemical Guys name - I have ordered from them several times and never received less than excellent service. Hell, I even won some free QD.
If in doubt- blaim the Royal Mail! :clown:
Rich you are really making me consider this filter system... hmmm.
Having said that I am moving back to Leeds soon to complete my degree, I will have unblemished paint but no wheels and smashed windows!! Man I hate students (me excluded :D)
Those air bubble ones are good - that are giant cocoons, and do not come in contact with the paint.
Only downside is that they are fairly expensive and just invite vandals...probably easier to build yourself a garage!;)
How long do these last for Rich... definitely a good idea just not sure I work on a volume big enough to make it worthwhile, only a weekend activity really although will be doing more over the summer...
Yeah my car is on a fairly steep incline so might be that. Just realised the over day that it doesn't seem to happen on any other car I work on, although most I don't do at my own home so that may be it!
It is where the water drains from the vehicle as it dries after washing... bloody annoying! Think the only ways round it are using filtered water or a quick blast straight after rinsing. Smeg.
Does anyone else get a dribble of water coming from their rear windows down their rear quarters on either side?!?
After washing just seems to be an infinite amount of water coming from there!! Anyone else find this on the Clio?
I remember I washed my Mum's black BMW in the sun with washing up liquid when I was about 12... it looked good from a distance (about 500 yards) - close up it was terrible. Why did my parents even let me near it?!
Think I used some kind of brush too and an old leather that may well have been...
Yeah, gloss black on a shiny black 172 should look good, mine are starting to look a bit cruddy.
Red is a bit common/ chavvy these days too. Yellow is a bit blatant, and silver is tricky as the wheels are silver and could be difficult to match. The black between the spokes should provide a...
A dressing will just cover the white marks up, not remove them. WD40 seems to do this job well and also creates a nice protective layer too. There are a few dedicated products out there but don't use any myself as this method works well for me.
I say stick with the original, I really don't see why you would want to change the badge - not like the new one is any better and looks out of place on the 172 or 182 IMO.
Blackfire topped with CG New Look Vinyl Dressing for me...I have used the Turtle Platinum series creme gel too though and think it works well, especially on tyres that have browned. Only downside is not much gloss.
News for you buddy - LOADS of products are made under licence! Where do you think all the supermarkets get all of their own brand food from? They certainly don't make it themselves!
Same goes for car cleaning products I am afraid...
I think we can all agree that Rich cheats and should be disqualified lol. Shame I can't make the FCS though would love to meet everyone and see everyone's cars in person.
There will always be next year I guess...
Blackfire topped with CG New Look Vinyl Dressing is my choice - a deep and glossy black which is very durable, minimum spin off and doesn't encourage dust sticking to the tyres. I like!
Yeah I guess you could save on the postage buying two, although its a good deal as it is for what you get.
Think mine came to £113 inc. delivery, a full set of 6" pads and backing plate, a guide (although not really used it) and some Sonus Paint Cleaner which I really like using.
