The gearboxes on the 172/Cups havent exactly been flawless, but I havent heard of this problem before. Sounds like the clutch isnt disengagine properly.

Yes you should get one no probs, a few cup owners were reporting that they had UV windscreens fitted after a cracked windscreen even though they stated they had a cup !

I got an A3 characature (SP?) of a silver 172 Mk2 (my car duh !) Got it up on the wall, sure I got it from cool art or something.

Its worth remembering though that the 106 GTi is very basic.. the build of the little pugs isnt very good (and thats comming from a clio owner lol) the reason they are so light is cause there aint exactly much too them. Cracking cars though, I looked at a few of them before deciding on the clio.

I normally get about 290-300 miles with mixed city/motorway driving. Most I have ever had the trip computer saying is 450 odd lol

Yep, wouldnt underestimate the little 106 Gtis.. I got beaten by one at crail.. it was very modified though and suprising a lot of bigger cars aswell.

Well not gonna give any details but I have already put one speed camera out of action.. Its was blatantly there just for revenue ! and up to the time I did it I had never revieved any speeding points so it wasnt vengance, just so plain pissed off with coppers taking the easy way out again !

the footwell in the 172 aint cramped.. i got size 11 feet too and its fine ! can even heel/toe although its more brake pedal on one side of my foot accellerator slipping on my other side.

My mk2 172 comes up with oil okay, if you hit the trip reset it shows the 00000-- no problem !
