Just been fishing for insurance quotes.. decided to give sainsburys a try..
Was previously paying £800/year with 5 years NCD + Protected with Tesco. Now I just got a speeding ticket recently (no points yet) but thought I would do a quote to see how much its gonna go up :(
Much to my...
If the invertor is overheating, it sounds like you only have a 100w inverter or something.. or just a really crap one !
Higher rated inverters would run cooler as they would be using far less than what they are expected to take.
To be honest the best idea would be replacing the PS2 PSU...
Okay, if you fit this it will trick you engine into thinking that the air is cooler than it infact is, which will make it add more fuel, which in turn will make you engine run rich and probably damage it badly !
172cup_nut, the mods just dont sit and do nothing when someone takes the thread off topic, and isnt even replying to what the person asked. They tend to get modded down !:devilish:
Make sure you post pics of your conversion when you get it done, will be wierd to see the cup with a nice...
Like the guy said, he wanted Cup colour/wheels/spoiler etc but with 172 interior.. maybe he wasnt insterested in weight ? whats the problem with that ??
Its gonna be hell of a lot cheaper buying a cup and getting leather from a written off 172 than get a 172, get it resprayed new alloys...
Yes what they said ^^^ take it to renault if you want a monkey to fix it :)
I havent had the problem myself, although I do have the stop light flicker when I accelerate hard, no other lights, just the stop light  and not all the time, just now and again..
Ive decided its got to...
Well, just ordered a set of Tar-ox pads from Nick.. cause at 24k mile service my front pads were 80% worn, and I aint paying Renault monkeys 130+ quid for replacing pads, when I can get tar-ox ones and do it myself for half the cost !
172cup_nut,
Yes, if you give it an hour after the seats are disconnected from the original car the airbags should be completely discharged, hence they wont go off under any circumstances, you could take them out of the seats but that might mean taking out some stiching, maybe not (ive never...

Mintex M1144s are superb, but the K-Tec ones aint bad...
heard the K-tec ones like to screech when braking..
Yep, its the same with 172s and Cups alike, its cause of the very strict euro regulations on emmisions within the first 5 minutes or so of startup. You will notice it doesnt do if if you have been a run, switched off then restarted.. its only when its cold.
Its generally about 3krpm that it...
Nah, I bought a bug remover cloth, its like a sponge but with a small weave in it, takes bugs off completly with a few rubs, Get it from halfords its yellow with a white weave.
I had about 4 million bugs on the front of my car, the all came off really quick and easy, no chemicals needed.

Well super Ls are lightweight, but I dont think they make them anymore, if you want really lightweight get magnesium wheels !
Cant help you with the 60mm PIs but I think most 1.2 owners have gone for coilovers when lowering that much.
Quite happy with what ive got, wont be changing for the 182 even when the 172 gets old and tired.
Not quite sure what im gonna get next but I am going to be getting a flat so it wont be anything expensive.
^^ yep mine does exactly that around the 3Krpm mark too, its all to do with emmision control, it only lasts for a couple minutes, dont really bother me at all.
First thing would probably be to get Renault to do a diagnostic on it, no point replacing parts here and there if the computer can tell you exactly whats wrong.
