My dynamic s only came with front speakers so i'm wanting to add some rears. I've pulled the grilles off the rear panels (3 door car) to find the wires in place but was wondering if the speakers fit from the front or do the panels have to be pulled out to fit the speakers from behind?
what...
the top of the dash (clock pod) pulls up as it's held down with 4 spring clips :)
have you fitted rear speakers yet? just want to know if the rears fit from the front or from the back of the panel (from back means having to remove the panel)
cheers
i wouldn't have though a high temp paint would be needed as the cover is only plastic - if the temp was so high under there the cover would melt
I did a mk4 Golf gti cover a few years ago using plastic primer and plastic paint (stuff used for bumpers, etc) and it withstood the heat :)
good luck with CAD - i ordered a facia adaptor and rear speakers a week ago and still nothing's arrived.
They replied to an email i sent saying the facia adaptor was out of stock - why couldn't they let me know?
well i was going to order some more Alpine stuff to build up my system but i'll be...

Re: Quick Insurance Question
well he can't prove anything now that you don't have the car you hit him with.
Sounds as though he can't get the p/x price he wants for his shitren so he's trying to bump the figure up by shafting you
Let him go to his insurance and when they write to you deny...
what about using some stickoflex or tigerseal to bond it down?
apply the seal and before it sets put something heavy on top to push the spoiler down flush :)
you have disconnected the battery haven't you?
if not it needs disconnecting at least 1/2 hour before you pull the plugs to release any leccy so the airbags don't discharge
Go onto the dvla website where you can download/ print a tax refund form.
You can claim the tax back for each full month still left to run on the disc but you'll also need to declare the car SORN.
You can cancel the insurance but if anything happens to the car in storage you wont be covered...
i had my old Fabia VRS retrimmed at "Seat Surgeons" in York a couple of years ago.
I went for black/ grey but they'd do any colours - £800 inc all 4 door panels :)
well i now drive a sprinter van all day at work so the clio feels nice and relaxed to drive on the way home
trying to be sensible with cars now which is why the turbos are in the past, although i did think about the new punto turbo due out this year :)
It removes 99% of anything that lays on top of the paintwork (overspray, tar, tree sap, etc), i've used it on a few cars and have always been impressed with the results.
You use this before polishing/ waxing the car otherwise it'll just take the wax off again.
To see the results wipe the clean...
i've just picked up a 1.6 dynamic S - revvy, not very quick (compared to all previous cars), steering is taking some getting used to (very light/ twitchy) but it's a nice car to be in.
I was surprised how quiet it is to drive - no engine noise unless high revs and outside road noise, etc isn't...
There are 2 bodykits in the clio brochure
Universal sport kit which says it's for models with 15" + 16" wheels and the Racing bodykit which is for models with 15" wheels - this 1 looks a bit too aftermarket whereas the Universal kit looks quite smart
I suppose £800 inc paint + fitting isn't...
Has anyone bought the Renault bodykit for a new shape Clio?
I asked the dealer how much it was and he didn't know (couldn't be bothered to find out either)
Looking at a brochure it's the Universal sport kit
I ave part numbers if there's a Renault parts guru on here :)
I've just picked up a year old 1.6 Dynamic S which is a nice car to drive, very quiet compared to mose small cars.
I asked about the bodykit and the parts dept guessed at £600 inc paint/ fitting - seems vey cheap, does anyone know the proper price?
use non acidic wheel cleaner which eats into the laquer, as mentioned above remove wheels before and after winter to clean the back (especially behind the spokes), use a spray on brake cleaner to remove stubborn residue
before refitting i always give them a coating of megs nxt
If you're near huddersfield i'd recommend Grange Moor Coachworks which is next to the roundabout behind the blacksmiths pub
i've had a few bodykits, spoilers painted/ fitted there and always got a good price
after you get a quote ask for discount for cash - usually knock vat off :)

182 was at a garage (not main dealers) - rear bumper had been painted which was off putting, service missed by 3k so warranty void, battery and stop light were constantly on (faintly) and a lot of rattles.
It was a good price but i know i wouldn't have been happy with the niggles
If i may...
