Moo :-)
Finally, I've been waiting SO long to do this!
With the car set up, and running beautifully we thought it was about time to make the ol' Saxo look purdy again.
So this morning, we got up early, loaded up the derv and followed one another to my work!
First job was to get the tyres on the rims...
Well, been busy all day again mostly just tying up loose ends though really.
Finally finished mounting the reservoirs from the coilovers which have been a pain in the ass since fitting them. Now safely tucked away between the wing and inner wing on beaniesport brackets lol
Then after Moo...
I'm BACK!
I've been very quiet of late as its been the build up to the proof!
The week before last I rang ATSpeed and got my car booked in for the following Thursday to be rolling road set up, so then I rang a recovery firm to get the car down there, who picked it up Wednesday night and...
Nothing to specific to be honest the car just has a few loose ends that need tying up. Couple of brackets need making to get the coilover reservous mounted out the way, then just essentially get a bonnet mounted onto it and hope it runs when we try to start it tomorrow (probably).
Well I'm still here beavering away with my birthday still being my big target to get the car on the road. There's not a lot to say really so I just thought I'd post some pics of how the cars looking now...
Ignore the camber in that one i'd had the hub off fitting a wheel speed sensor for...
Little update but in my opinion a very important one really, today we finally finished rewiring the car again (what moo and I worked out is the 4th time now) and fitted the dash and all the looms back into the car.
Kill switch in, ignition on, SIGNS OF LIFE!!!
Later on and a quick systems...
We had this very same problem when trying to get the saxo started. Go to the top left of the screen and drop the ECU menu. Scroll down to "baud rate" and set it to auto W
Worked for us, let me know how you get on
Back again now and it's yet another wiring post! lol
Dash loom is now 99% complete after being Rewired again to accomadate the stack dash and still satisfy my VERY picky ways.
The stack dash was supplied with a short loom which is meant to be plumbed into the car to run it but I wasn't keen...
We're back!
Not a huge amount of pics to go with this post as, well I forgot to be honest, but we've been doing a little finishing off this weekend.
As my engine was out of a Peugeot I removed the badge off the coil cover earlier, but today I finally got hold of the replacment badge for the coil...
Not a huge update, but an update none the less.
On Tuesday we went off to Croydon to pick up a full set of valver looms off Midge (clio16valver) so we could set about wiring up the new engine as we had sold all the original looms.
First thing we did was harvest all the long wiring out of the...
Ok back again but not a massive update this one as we've spent a great deal of the last 2 days whizzing here there and everywhere picking up bits. However we have done a couple of bits Most importantly we now have a fuel system plumbed in consisting of...
Mk2 phase 2 fuel pump (NOT a straight...
Well i'm still here and moo and I are still plodding along with the old girl. This week we've taken off work to make some big old steps forwards. Today has been a big old day on the car finally bolting on a lot of the parts that've been filling up my room for quite some time now. It's left us...
Cheers for all the comments
We've been busy again and this time we've finally sorted a couple of things that we've been needing to do for sometime.
Having our other breaking black VTS has helped with supplying some later spec bits.
First thing we did was bolt the front end together using the...
Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the wheels now have tyres on them...
As for the shafts they were pretty expensive but i'm not sure how bad yet as I don't pay for them until Monday lol :o
Well, this isn't a particularly big update but I hate not getting anything at all posted on here so i'll post up a little interim post. Essentially I've come into a little money so i've been on a bit of a spend up. This resulted in me now having.
The stack returned to them and the black face...
More updates again!
Sorry about all the pictures, I just can't stop taking pictures of my car!
I'm liking this, we're making good progress in the car again!
Not many pictures of us working on the car as it was a bit nerve racking working around the engine bay!
Firstly we bolting the dash as the...
Not a hugely picturey update here, but my Supersprint exhaust manifold arrive today and I got my cambelt on and tensioned so my engine is now finally fully built up
That leaves my engine spec as follows:
TU5 JP4 engine converted for a Saxo
Gas flowed head with valve guides...
So so sorry chaps, we use one photobucket account for both the clio and the saxo and due to the progress being made and veiwed on both cars we've used up all our monthly bandwidth. But if you check back tomorrow it'll be a new month and all the pics will be back to veiw and post about to your...
WOW! Cheers for all the comments!
Today I finally got to something that seems like I've been waiting forever to do!
I finally managed to build the engine up (mostly).
To begin with I get the rest of the pistonsand rods in.
Next I built up the rest of the bottom end, oil pump, main...
We're back!
Quite an interesting update here.
We haven't done a lot to the car for a couple of weeks now as we have been waiting on parts.
But then on Friday everything finally arrived.
Lightened and balanced crank and flywheel.
Flywheel is lighened by 1.7Kg and Crankshaft lightened by 3.7Kg...
Woo thanks for all the nice comments I do love the support. This post is firstly a bit of picture wh*ring followed by some attention wh*ring. First of all some of you may remember or have noticed that the suspension on this car before was to say the least a little below par as it was essentially...
Yeah its a bogg brothers manifold, it had to be modified as it was originally for the Saxo VTS engine (TU5J4) but once purchased we ended up going for a later C2 VTS engine (TU5JP4) so it didn't qhite fit and needed modifying a bit.
As for the bike carbs, as Danny said, we only went for bike...
