Right, I have recently painted my brothers Saxo in satin black, but we are now starting to realize what a nightmare it is to keep in tip top contition.
Does anyone know of any polish, or something similar I can use to keep on top of the paint work and to perhaps remove any slight scratches or...

Yeah it's still kicking about in the garage but doesn't have an engine at the moment although a replacment is on it's way at some point in august and in the form of a 240+bhp 48mm throttle bodied F4R.
Beaniemoo is actually me (beanie) and my brother (moo) I own the clio and we built the saxo...
With regards to the seats you will need new bags but the seat covers can often be sewn back up again but only by a specialist as they have to be done so they can deploy safely again. You can safely remove the seats and do this work as long as the battery has been disconnected then reinstall them...
Hello there, were back with a small update.
Thank you for all the comments, good and bad, nice to hear what everyone thinks.
Right, updates on the car are, I'm still fighting the good battle with the dice valve caps, I've now replaced 5 of them!!!! Glad they are fairly cheap.
As well as that...
Couple of pics i got today on facebook of the custom made pistons each machined to give identical compression on all 4 cylinders just to keep you updated.
I Like
AAAHHHH! I really wish I was closer! I'd love to pop down and spend an evening looking at this as it does sound like something simple like broken wire or poor connection? And I'm sure we'd get it running no prolbems. Have you checked the resistance of the wire from the ECU to pump relay? If its...
PMSL, Busted! You've been watching very closely haven't you?! No the car wasn't widetracked from the outset and there's a fairly long and dull reason for that which I can't be bothered to explain.
Rest assured there's plenty of interesting developments on the horizon but when have we ever...
Woooooooooooooooooooo! We're back again on this thread and with what we think is a REALLY exciting update.
Ever since the piston rings went on the original engine we decided to continue in the route that the rest of the car has been done to, if we're doing the job, might as well do it to the...
Brilliant, cheers fella. As i'm putting the clio on bodies now I thought i'd take this opotunity to do away with the plastic fuel pipes under the car that had to be joined when we did the engine conversion. Looking at the cars at work they all had these hard "green" lines and if I could get...
Yeah the dark green coated brake pipes (solid ones not flexi) I'm changing the brake and fuel lines on the clio but don't really want to use copper ones I'd like to get some made up the same as the OE ones.
So steel we reckon with a rubberised coating we reckon?
Thanks for all the comments, its aways nice to hear what other people think of what we've done and are doing.
Right, everything has been very rush, rush to get everything done in time for FCS as that was when we desperatly wanted to show the car first.
We were only waiting for a few thing to...
Nice to finally meeting you, and see the Clio.
We will desperately try to get the Clio to FCS next year, (and last longer on the drinking on the night before LOL)!
Thanks for the picture of the Saxo
Not sure how technically good this photo is but it was my first photo shoot with a proper camera. Borrowed my dad's digital SLR, gave me a real taste for it.
Hope you like, be gentle :-)
Moo
The bonnet does indeed sit like that all the time it was a choice made as part of the retro track car theme of the car as back in the day people with 45's-40's/cooling issues (lol) used to raise the back of the bonnet to aid air flow through the bay. Heaven knows if it actually worked but the...
Right, looking at the thread agin this morning we decided that the pictures we took and posted yesterday did not do the car justice.
So, we borrowed a Digital SLR and probably using about 10% of its capibilities we went out for a bit of a photo shoot...
PMSL!!! I can't begin to tell you how much that can't happen, the pictures are truely useless when it comes to giving people an idea of how the car looks in real life, In real life it's far meaner looking and proper on the deck (feel free to confirm this at FCS) as it stands the car is just over...
Not nagging at all fella, it's great to know that people are interested in what we're doing and so in honour of your enthusiasm i'm dedicating this post to you lol.
This week is a big one on the project as it's the week before FCS and we want the exterior looking done in time for it. This...
Woo my thread is back! but unfortunately at the moment I have nothing to post on it :( I'll keep saving my pennies then and be back soon though.
Sorry to all the people who are disappointed checking in thinking this is an update lol
We're now fairly confident that the outside of the car will be ready to appear at FCS which is good because we were gutted when we realised the project valver was gonna miss another FCS. The whole car however will be a much longer job without a fixed finish date really.
Thanks for all the comments i was very worried EVERYONE was gonna hate it lol. Well as it's saturday today we got to spend plenty of time on the car which is handy when the car is in as many peices as it is. Immediately after arriving was to apply some bling.
We then began fitting the car...
First of all this morning I got to worka nd the car had flatted off beutifully so I was chuffed to bits after a night of worrying the car was too gloss..
Well today's update is really only one thing but more has occured. Firstly the paintshop have been busy and got the doors...
Hi all and just to let you know we've been pretty damn busy even though we've not been posting just a lot of it hasn't been at all picture worthy. Today however is very different. First of all as the car has a very retro theme to it we've given the fog lamps a european/retro look...
