...the only thing we leave to Renaults quality control...
Sorry, this'll take some explaining. As you know from the thread we have rebuild, modified, overhauled or replaced almost every component on this car, apart from the engine which we thought being a 45k mile year 2000 engine would be ok...
It seems from scanning the web that standard weight is between 980 & 1030kg so we've managed to drop around 200kg and that obviously includes the addition of a 30kg cage and the floor bars for the seats so we're pretty chuffed with the outcome.
:D:D:D
And it is a bit of a devil to drive:evil:
Right! This is without a doubt going to be a controversial post but i'm making it anyway because a lot of you are very interested. Wednesday Dodgy Nick from work who races formula 2 stock cars did me a favour and generously brought in his very accurate corner weighting scale set.
The car was...
Only a small update, but the first update for a fair while now, just been enjoying driving round in it.
Today we managed to run the Clio into Moo's work to sort out a few little things which have come to our attention during the miles its been on the road for.
First thing to do was get it on a...
Cheers matey glad you liked it. Well as mentioned above the clio is out and about doing the rounds still and loving it. This weekend moo and I decided to take our lives (and hearing lol) in our hands and did the 3 hour each way 320mile round trip to the valver south west meet. The car performed...
Huge thanks to everyone who has mentioned our MK1, nice to see people appreciate the effort put into it. As mentioned before the car isn't quite finnished yet, there are loads of odd jobs to finnish off (rear ride height included) but it is on the road and proving to be worth the time money and...
The best place to get them as far as i know is plastics4performance who supplied mine and they were really helpful and arrived pretty much when they said although i cann't help you too much regarding the price as mine are mk1 windows. If you go for sliders you can ask them to put little grub...
I might've got completely the wrong end of the stick here but is there actually an concept here or are you just throwing words around that you like the sound of, 4x4, 300bhp and so on. It doesn't sound like the knowledgable start of a project just a bit of pub or playground banter.
Unless i'm...
Was coming back from picking up a mate of mine in Biggleswade when i saw a mint Racing blue aproaching! I was in a white valver with a black roof
Very nice car, how so clean lol
Yeah the rear is still a touch low but i have to say it's not as twitchy as a lot of people have had me believe. However if it proves a problem it can be mended easily enough and it's a free fix too which is handy
Well, sorry for the big gap since the last post but as you can imagine the internet hasn't been top of my list for the last week. Right so the Clios' been on the road for a week and I absolutely love it!! It's thrown up a couple of teething problems this week but nothing we can't handle yet...
Well it's come a long way since it was a 500quid MOT faliure standard blue valver so I thought everyone might be interested to see some pics of it away from the garage so heres some dad took today.
Hope you like. :P

Yeah sorry chaps i'm doing everything in my powers to not involve myself in clio stuff because it reminds me my cars nearly ready after 2 years and the only thing keeping me from taking it for a spin is Gordon Brown lol.
Payday friday though so car tax here we come!!!!
We found when we were doing our conversion that finding the diagrams is next to imposible but to be hoest if you know how to drive a multimetre it's a pretty simple loom to work out. Getting ours running only took a bout 4wires and the rest were just guages and lights we had no wiring diagrams...
I'm in!!! Definately!!!! Be good to get it on the rollers as I really don't know a great deal about the engine's condition so it'd be good to have some insight.
Re: My mk1 track car blog
Good lad thats what we like to hear!!!! Battery should be ok without any drain on it mine lasted ages and ages without any action.
I'd absolutely love to post up a speedo video (although it'd be a touch inaccurate as it tends to wheelspin in the corrent conditions) However, and this is killing me, i'm so skint i can't actually tax the car until payday so it's currently laid up in the garage waiting...
I've gotta be honest chaps this last push has totally cleaned me out I really don't have a penny this month. I'd love to go to a few events in the near future to show people before they loose interest but i just can't :S.
I have to say though that in my career i've driven some very fast cars...
