Well my reaction was a great big smile and I almost snagged the keys out of the dealers hands in my eagerness to finally get it home.
Whenever I see another 172/182/197/200 I have sometimes been known to squeal and I blame the 182 that shot past me in my old fiesta for my love of clios now...
It's a lot lighter then albi blue, as I said in my post with the pictures it is probably closer to racing blue but I can't say for sure as I can't compare it to a racing blue.
I think it's mostly down to the weight
Also the gearing isn't helpful. Early 197s suffer the worst as the gears are closer and lower.
Later 197 got a revised box that made gearing better and the 200s got another revision in the mapping and gearing (from what I've gathered)
So am I seriously the only one who manages 28-30 on a daily basis. It's not a one off either as I reset my trip computer each time I fill up and over the 320-380 miles I get from the tank that's my average (also the trip computer isn't as accurate re mpg as it could be)
I've seen 450 miles from...
Hmm my wheels were sprayed and I had no peeling issue in the month+ they were in use on the car.
The finish is Matt but I have lacquered over the top for my centre caps. I can't say in regards to peel-ability now but as I have 2 sets its neither here nor there for me.
Mine is an earlier 197 (youra has a revised gearbox compared to mine)
I average 28-30 daily and max of 35 on motorway journeys (and I can't resist the loud pedal)
Black speedlines on an AB 197 look amazing. I know as that's what are currently on mine.
Good thing you grabbed one with the...
My alloys are now back to silver as they are no longer on my Clio. Got a set off a 200 on it now.
I'm thinking about spraying the old alloys White before they go in for refurbishment to see what that look like as I'm going to run my winter tyres, when they get here, on the curbed alloys (the...
Was in the AB 197 behind you coming out of morrisons.
I kept on towards Westerham but you turned off after the lights.
Noticed you had a cliosport.net sticker in rear window.
They aren't slow, at all. Don't confuse 'has to be worked to get the best out of them' with slow.
I've played with an 09 plate civic type R which had trouble keeping up. Was good fun he gave a me a flash and a wave as we parted ways.
Not many lovers of AB on here.
I've got to say it's an under estimated colour.
I've had mine since April and it's been a dream. It's used as a daily so i went for non cup packed but i do plan on getting some KWV1s on it.
I've not had any problems with it but I'm 5 months off getting its...
You do realise the overspray comes off with a cloth right?
I'm not sure people understand this isnt a proper paint. It's more like spray on vinyl wrap/cling film. It won't damage the paintwork and peels off. If you do manage to get some on a panel, damp cloth over it and presto back...
Lovetyres.com?
This site has so far given me the best price for contisport 5s of any site I've looked at. Even when ive asked local tyre places. These + fitting money work out best value.
Just curious and cautious as it's not a site I've heard a lot about.
AFM1
They don't peel and I've had mine on about a month if not longer. I wash them with a bucket and sponge just like I would the car then hose them off.
I did about 3-4 layers per wheel and used a little under 3 cans in total. I'd say get 4 though as it doesn't hurt to have more then you need...
Pulled all the trim that was going to be sprayed out if the car.
Ive sprayed my badges and wheels on the car masking taped up though. Overspray is not a big deal as it wipes away with a towel or peels off.
Interior is very easy to get out in the mk3 so can't imagine it being too hard in the...
Right stick in the muds here.
I'd have a giggle if I saw it. Then again I'm more open to what people do to their cars (bar the bodykitted, driven through Halfords sideways type)
No problem, here you go.
It comes off very easily if you don't like part of it or make a mistake.
Forgive the general mess of the car. Sadly having been in and out of hospital, then on holiday and working shifts has meant it hasn't had a proper clean in 3 months :(
I used the blue this weekend. I can stick up some pictures if it helps?
Its quite a light blue. Not as dark as they say. My car is albi blue and I'd say the blue is closer to the racing blue.
Got to say I've used this stuff on my wheels/badges and interior pieces. It's really good stuff :)
I've had that light flash on mine twice. Only ever in traffic when it's a hot day. I think it's a lambda over reading as once you get moving and the fumes start moving and clearing it stops.
I think let people do what they want. Their car and their money.
Also gives me a laugh when i catch sight of ridiculous ones around.
(the type where a car has been attacked by a magpie, shiny stuff stuck everywhere or they have huge badly fitted bodykits)
I have stickers on my rear window...
If this is the usual problem of them splitting then second hand is rare as the seals split. I'm currently waiting to replace my split drivers side one (am on holiday so can't do it yet)
Buying new is the best way to go and make sure the surface is thoroughly clean to get the best adhesion...
that annoyed you?
chill out it's very minor. I came back to my car after being in hospital to see someone had kindly reversed into the back of it. I wasn't pleased but no one wasn't hurt (although I may have still been doped up on meds)
Strip and respray of the bumper and it's back to normal...
200 and I drive/own a 197. it has a few refinements but I hate the front end so I went for the 197 (also I wanted xenons and the sunroof that a 200 can't get equipped with)
it will go down to preference. if it's your daily do NOT get a cup model. It will tire you out eventually. Go FF as it's a...
