Get one of the universal stretch type ones...
Wheel off
Hub nut off
Lower balljoint off
Pull suspension leg away of driveshaft
Cut old boot off
Pack with grease
Fit new stretchy boot
Dont not get the mtec ones... They stretch... Wheels come lose... And eventually they snap!
I would bet any money they are actually made by grayson and are s**t!
What i ment was ive yet to source all the bits.. Not just the uch.
Ah so the clocks just show what the uch tells them.. Thats usefull as i dont really want the blue faced cup clocks.
Do the clocks record the mileage... Or is that stored in the uch aswell?
ive had a search but can't really find anything.
I am currently building up a 172 that was originally a FF not a cup. As this is going to be a track car, I will be using a complete cup loom, with cup ecu and uch(yet to source) basically to get rid of the abs, esp ect.
Question is, I still...
Cool mate. Ive found a complete cup loom... Everything from front bumper to rear bumper lol
Cars stripped out to be painted inside so may as well fit the cup loom while refitting. Looks like i need to add a heater box to my wanted list lol
@GrahamS
Is the heater the same.. Or did you have to change it?
Wanting to know if the electric motors that work the functions of the heater... Heat... Flow ect can be swapped out to the manual cup versions or if the whole lot has to be changed
So a cup loom is going to have less then. I did think that may be the case as i know the manual heater panel fitted to the cup has different plugs compared to the ff climate control panel
I would also like to know this. No point buying a cup loom if its more or less the same.
Coming from a history of peugeot/citroens... Find that the main loom on most model is the same with "extras" being on sub looms. E.g my old 5dr 106 with manual windows... Plugs for the electric window...
@Tony Hunter
Tony hopefully you will see this. Ive read an old post of yours saying you struggled with rear bias and had to fit a cup load valve aswell?
Different car.. But a mate was having issues with his ax trackcar (very light over the back end) Even with has valve at the minimum he still...
Currently converting my 172 to non abs. Was planning to use a cup m/c and run an internal single line to the rear brakes with an internal lever type bias valve
Has anyone had any issues with being able to reduce the rear brake effort enough with this setup?
You would be pushing your luck with a 22.... Ive started my previous 106 (1.6 16v) with one... But it sounded no were near as keen to turn over as it did with a standard 063 size battery. From cold i always connected a jump pack aswell
P.S
A pc680 can be mounted flat.. Only aprox 50-60mm thick. Therefore would most likely fit flat mounted via a cage to the exsisting battery tray and you would have room to still fit an induction kit like the above.
I can get batteries at a good price... Eg the oddysey pc680 (redtop 25) at £75. Can enquire on a price for the "30" size if anyone is interested in that one
