Can i ask a sensible question to those that have tested the CTR. I like the car but i had a concern that the gear stick looks quite far forward. Im a tall guy and i was just wondering if it means you have to lean forward to change? I had a similar thing on the Nissan Silvia i owned (Jap men...
See my other post on loose steering, and weld the column. Replacing it is a waste of money if the problem in the joint above the universal joint. Cost you 20-40 quid to weld it and it will be better than new.
Yeah seems ok. still as good as when i did it. But with the JD weld it still allows the smallest bit of play. I will have to eventually get it welded but ill do as it is until i get round to it.
I get a very slight noise when i depress the clutch. I can only hear it with the window open. Cross between a rustle and a whine. Very slight. Only at maximum depress too. And again on the way up. Any ideas? Thought it might be the cable rubbing somewhere.
What about using a thicker oil on the older willys and valvers? I use 15w 40 on mine and it seems less tractor like.
I would have though 10k boost was ideal for higher milage cars???
Do a search. Or ask Benh. lol.
Williams 1 - Limited edition
Willimas 2 - First copy of the limited edition
Williams 3 - Second copy of the limited edition
;)
Seriously, Williams 1,2 came is 449 sport blue. Williams 3 in Monaco blue. Willy 2 and 3 had extra toys on them. But basically...
How to judge if your Williams is too slow.
On a country lane you can get down all the power and use top speed while still maintaining contact with the road - Williams too slow.
On a country lane you cant get down all the power and cant use top speed while the car scrambles for grip on the...
About two weeks ago i had some rear shocks fitted, and the handling felt alot better so i did the fronts too. When they were fitted the car felt alot more secure on the road. At the time the guy who did them said they would take a few weeks to bed in (they were genuine renault parts). I didnt...
Anyone fitted them to a higher milage car? If so what difference did it make? Anyone fitted them to a valver or Willy? I have some and will be fitting them soon.
If you want a profit, then i wouldnt pay more than 1200 ish. I only payed 2500 for my fully working fat boy, so 1600 for a shagged one seems a bit steep.
I had a phase 2, 1997. 1.9 Penache (i think). Cruise at 90-100 no probs. High milage ones handle like poo (serious oversteer with that heavy engine and no suspension mods). Other than that very reliable. Easy to run on red diesel, 50 / 50 mix of vege oil diesel. I often thought about using 80 %...
I bought some 10/40 oil. I think its comma, but not sure a its at home. The oil is dark ish (looks like used oil), not clear like other new oils. Its a brand new bottle, will it be ok to use in my Williams? Its semi synthetic. My mate said it might be reconstituted oil or something and would be...
Smokes, well have to have a play on a private track when i come over for the suspension. Have you ordered polyurethane bushes yet? Or are you going for rubber? I didnt realise you were getting a conversion. I also have another money making idea. Speak later on msn.
My CRX Mk1 used to hate 95 RON fuel, spluttered, felt flat, no power. Id go 98 everytime, unless you are desparate, in which case just put in enough to get you to a shell garage / BP.
