Got a chance to take this Renault demonstrator home from work. I'll start with the pics:

I'm actually won over by the styling after really not...
Slightly better idle, less spluttery on start up and feels a bit more responsive. Even I notice these and I'm pretty cynical about stuff like this.
I don't notice any improvement on MPG however, over my 350 miles a week the car does 35-36mpg no matter what fuel goes in.
Cheers handsome, it near enough is mate, apart from the wanky rust bubble on the arch!
It's running me £300 a month on fuel atm. I've been offered a great deal by my dad on his Mazda 2 Diesel and with what the 172 costs to insure I doubt I'll be able to insure the both of them. With what I'd...
Fitted some Eibach proline springs to this while I was off over Christmas. There's not much difference on the front but they have sat the rear down well (was on pattern part springs before and sat crazy high)
The ride quality is EXCELLENT and it has cut the body roll down dramatically too so...
I clocked that right away too!! Nothing wrong with it I suppose but still amusing how old parts like that are still in use 12 years down the line on an ultra modern car.
Just niggles really mate, little electrical faults here and there at worst.
Consumables and tired bits wearing out too (ball joints, track rod ends etc) which you will be familiar with from owning older cars.
Oh yeah rattles too, better re-familiarise yourself with them, MK2 Clio's will rattle...
Typical of the modern car really. Packed full of safety features right across the range this, a VW fleet rep came to introduce it to us at our place recently
These 1.2 16v's are a total minefield of electrical problems, mine had a fair few and everyone I know personally that's owned one has experienced similar!
I agree, I saw some jap car nerd post a pic up on facebook trying to claim an EP3 CTR in the same league as an Escort Cosworth (!!)
Shame you don't like the car, a mate of mine is selling his as he couldn't get on with it either, his is the aubergine colour.

Cheapest for sale from what I can see. Does 60+ mpg all day long this and we've owned it from nearly new.
Link now working.
Love it Dan...You know I'm in the same boat with mine so I can always relate to this!
I do think it would look quality lowered and clean...you know what you need to do!
Nice one - makes me wonder whether I should fork out and buy a decent (newer) motor like this. Come winter time old bangers become a hassle, you made the right move.
