problem after problem after problem.....just going through the final testing before i pick her up. Nearly there, had some problems with wrong shafts or CV with the Willy track, after speaking to the whole of CS today (i mean EVERYONE, thanks to Matbrown, J3NED, Andy GDI, BenR, Fred2001...
Quick update, recieved a picture message from Ben earlier today of the car on the back of a low-loader, en route to Omex HQ for its mapping session!
Also, the group buy on bodywork is going ahead this Saturday!
dont run the car, can ruin your rack. At worst it pump can seize, causing the belt to slip and causing you all sorts of problems.......can be an expensive job depending on whats gone. Could be the pipe that runs from the pump to the rack, £40 form Reno and a c**t to fit, could be pump....big...
guys, the car is not for sale, please stop the PMs! At the end of summer, i will have no use for it, so it will either go up for sale or in storage until next season! Ive not even got it back yet!
youll have to PM Ben on that one! the car will be for sale at the end of summer though.......Fresh paint, Coilovered williams track, and 7ks worth of engine.......
We did some testing, it faired VERY well on the bridge test, so Gibo, make sure you get a comparison in before he gets it timed up, im telling you this is gonna be a fast one!
Went out in this last night, very very nice. Power comes in very well at 4500rpm and goes MENTAL in the last 700RPM! And to think its not even timed in yet. I reckon weve got a very quick one on our hands here, cant wait til its timed and mapped. Its got me gagging for my car back now.
Well...
lmao at you guys, a JCW has 210bhp and weighs 1100kg (IIRC) it IS faster then 172s, and it would be marginal with a 182/CTR. End of. No "my mate raced one" nonsense, these are FACTS.
Cooper S are whack, not the same car as a JCW, and i have no doubt the differences between a 182 and a JCW would be minimal on the road. But when it comes to build quality, design, residuals, image, options and generally a better car, i know what i would choose, the MINI runs away with it. But...
racinblue, my bad mate, it isnt quite 50% over two years, but it isnt far off, just on this forum alone there are 3x172s 2 years old that are struggling to shift at 7500..........
Now the camp thing is a matter of taste mate, i certainly woudnt have a problem ownign a MCS! And the picking up a girl thing was said in jest anyway! I think the Mini has moved on from when it first came out and only rich wives drove them and waved at each other. But again this is IMO.
The...
Gibo youre right, you dont buy cars to make money, but losing more money then you have to is silly! And would you honestly rather turbo a 182? Now that would be a waste of money!
Each to their own, but re-sale value of a car is a major issue for me, but i do change cars a lot!
Chris-The tailpipes themselves are not bigger you are right, but the backboxes are bigger and noticeable from the.....er......back?
racinblue-50% over 2 years i would not say is standard! One of the main reasons i havent bought a 182 is because of the money i would lose on depreciation. A 172...
182 can be bought for 12,500 new. They are now for sale 8 months down the line at 10k listed, prob knock them down to 9.5k for cash. Thats a MASSIVE hit. Cups and 172s are now going for 6.5k! Thats almost 50% depreciation! Cooper S works are still fetching 15k all day long.....at most thats a...
The Works usually has noticeably bigger exhausts, and the whine from the charger is a lot louder. There are different versions of the upgrade available, JCW is just one of teh companys, BBR GTi do a 220bhp conversion. The JCW Cooper S come with a badge.
Hmm, im currently looking at buying a Cooper S works, went out in a 210bhp version last night. Now these cars may cost a lot more, but the interior, build quality, and residuals suit the price tag. Id never buy a 182 because im not a fool when it comes to money, the ridiculous depreciation cups...
