About to fit my Devil unsilenced centre-section and un-homologated back-box, but I got worried when I saw that the centre-section has a sticker that says not for road use on it - is this because itll be feck-off loud and therefore illegal or what? I know the de-cat is officially illegal, but...

I bought mine in mid 2000 brand new and its got the twin-cat jobbie, so definitely the older ones had it - no idea really about the new ones as Ive not seen one... :confused:

Thanks Ben! I was under the impression that only the Mk1s with lightweight bonnets (ie the early ones - pre 01) came with the twin-cat, but hey, who cares! Im really getting worried about the loudness, but if its too bad, I can apparently just stick the old back box on and it should quieten...

I can say for certain that the 172 (Mk1) is faster than a Cooper S - as Ive actually raced one up a slight gradient for about 2 miles!!! :oops: Its not like youll destroy it or anything (its a chuffing fast car at the end of the day!) but its certainly slower.
