Saw a Silver one on the corner after the tunnel.
The renault cars sempt to be much quicker than the rest of the field and they are dare i say it RELIABLE!
How ? The 172s rarely kick out 172 at the fly if ever how did you manage 184.7 from a standard 182 have Renault got their act together or do you have mods lurking under the bonnet?
Yeah they dont last long, mine should be out of decent material and should see the car out to the great scrapyeard in the sky.
I wont take any money off you lot until mine has been on the car for a while and thorough testing has taken place, then i will post some pics and gauge the interest.
Foil is tin hense "Tin foil", although i think the foil used is aluminium.
Regardless of renaults stuff the new model i am having made will be less heat conductive and more reflective, look better and cost less so why are we even having this discussion you either want one or yo dont!
Abuse of a valver is relative, what you class as abuse i might class as everyday driving. Im talking about trackdays nurburgring etc.
Fact is in normal comuting with a little bit of enthusiastic driving for short periods you should be fine without the heatshield. However if your driving for...
You have little faith, it will be of sound insulation, Assuming you have enough reflection the heat will be deflected out through the vent. Stainless will stay shiny for longer which is why i suggest this. Aluminium although better heat disipation properties will oxidise and thus stop the...
In light of recent events (heatshield falling off causing manifold to melt the accelerator cable and bonnet release cable) I have decided not to pay renault for the preiveledge of supplying me with a cheap and nasty foil heatshield and am having a custom stainless/ally foam backed heatshield...
Its like buying a williams fitted with valver suspension its just not a williams
sell it to some unsuspecting ejit and buy the proper version WITH CUP EXTRAS !!!
Yeah very good service i had two sets of Toyos T1S and i get them fitted for £3 per corner at my local tyre place. But i pay £5 and get them internally balanced and tracked etc.
lol, no probs got the new throttle cable in but it was a real b**ch fitting the rubber grommet in the bulkhead, how do you mechanics do it? had to get the girlfriend to push it through as shes got skinnier hands i couldnt get my hand past the reservoir I nearly ended up taking out the arch...
Ah no the heat shield fell off, is that what caused it i bet its melted the bastid plastic tube f**k it makes sense now coz i was giving it death racing a crx just before. Thanks for letting me know about the bonnet catch cable i bet this has melted aswell its good that the bonnet cable is...
Thanks for the replies chaps
I have taken the locking mechanism off and it works fine clicks closed then when you manually pull the metal tag accross it clicks open therefore the problem must lie with the cable surely? I think something must have happend jamming both cables. I removed the...
You must drive like a girl get hold of the f**king steering wheel and tell the car where you want it to go. Its essentially a point and squirt car. I know exactly what you mean about following the depressions in the road but at the end of the day its a track car for perfectly flat sticky...
Update and bump!
The cable is now off and got one on order for tommorow.
To get the cable out i basically pulled as hard as i could from the engine end and it came flying out. The white plastic bit that attaches to the pedal came off but is undamaged hopefully the new cable comes with new clip...
I have now removed the throttle cable, the bonet release mechanism is a seperate issue the catch does move down but just springs back up again seems as though it wont lock into position. I can get some photos if it helps. The gas pedal seems ok in operation now the cables not there nothing...
Last night my throttle cable jammed on my valver and for some reason at the same time the bonnet release cable isnt working. The bonnet is open but i cant get it to close and lock shut. Now i have disconnected the throttle cable from the throttle end (as the tension was making the throttle stick...
Right some fiends came down in there hot hatches to my local bypass for a little sprint to see the differences between the cars CRX/172cup/VALVER
My valver put on a good performance against the crx which was quicker than i thought but i comfortably maintained a gap but never lost him and he...
I Have owned nearly all the models even if for short periods, i have to say if im being honest the older models are more reliable but then they dont have as much to go wrong. Fact is we pay the price for having such advanced and high powered cars with that zainy french styling/attitude. I have...
