^ ^ RUBBISH - a tuned petrol would use more fuel cos power top-end, but I'd say 99% of diesel turbo re-maps give MASSIVE improvement in economy!
My car does EXACTLY the same 60 mile commute 5 days a week and is almost never used anywhere else
I'd say I drive it faster than pre-map and the...
I love Citroens
We've got a Xsara which is BRILLIANT - best Q-car out.....
looks bland, bit old fashioned, little 15" alloys......
BUT
100% reliability (100K+ miles in Xsaras)
Decent Spec
Superb Ride
50mpg
Dirt Cheap Insurance
with 140bhp & 250lb/ft of torque...
basically it 'optimises' all settings
a factory car is 'DELIBERATELY' detuned to account for crap fuel and poor servicing
essentially it releases that hidden potential and the economy comes from the ability to drive it in a higher gear due to more low down torque and smoother pick-up...
Panel Filter £35 www.potn.com
made a big difference from about 3800 to redline on both the Clio and Xsara cos both were wheezy and asthmatic top end before
a beuaty
AND
a great way to buy a car!
I flew to Aberdeen to buy our last one and drove it home 500+ miles
Cost was £50 flight, £50 diesel, but saved at least a grand cos cheaper in Scotland !
I've had a great idea!
I'll spend 20K turning a 6K 'lukewarm' hatch into a 6K 'lukewarm' hatch that will appeal to even less people!
On 2nd thoughts I'll take 20K out of the bank in pennies, go to the railway line and watch as train squash them one by one!
howdy!
good choice of car but we are a little biased
P.S: nice Clio bedsheets, dinner, cutlery set, pink shirts and Accrylic Ties under 'club memorabilia'
^ ^ sorry, I forgot that this is not the Allegro Owners club
P.S: still nearly double what I paid for a 54K from an independent that WAS done properly cos I know the boss!
P.P.S: I had almost the same at Camden in Aylesbury (years ago) and made a fuss thro Reno HQ that I got £150 vouchers - next service £10
I'd make a fu*king big noise to the Head of Service about Trading Standards and Voiding Warrenty
I'd be ready to say that you've spoken to Reno HQ - that gets things moving
- wrong oil (warrenty)
- ticking stuff that clearly hasn't been done - precedures/training?
- not warning of...
no difference mate - wheels need to be balanced individually
unless a car has been kerbed heavily or crashed, tracking is often an easy £20 or £30 for nowt by tyre depots
P.S: 54K means nowt without old MOT's (3 in your case) AND stamped & receipted book
almost any numpty can make up a service receipt in Word and rewind the speedo
Sorry :-(
Superchip don't fit a 'chip' - basically just re-map fuel settings in ECU
The car will only improve with a re-map since it essentially optimises the running
I'd say neglect, neglect, neglect - lack of oil and filter changes, thrashing from cold etc
nice one - but too bloody common
^ ^ I can say that cos I've got a black dynamique!
as said - clear side repeaters
I've also done:
- the silver door badges (clip off and re-spray - I posted to someone who did it for about a tenner thro the club, but can't remember who!)
-...
go for it - I've bought 3x @ auction - saved average £1500 a time!
all this nonsence about 'take someone that knows' WALOC
do you know your cars and can spot a munter?
same stuff just a few grand cheaper!
