^ don't admit that - you'll never find a second lover to fill in when Gareths away driving one of those!
Hey, perhaps he should take the all the RS keys to be sure!
she's so diddy (hidden by steering wheel) I can only get a good gander if I see is stuck in traffic going slow and I look across
ha ha ha, good morning!
p.s. Ian YES ALL turbo, 68 has no intercooler thou.
80, 100 and 106 are essentially the same altho different gearbox on 2 higher power models
BUT all three higher power models re-map to almost the same, so go for an 80 cos lower emissions (tax £35 p.a.), better economy (67 combined...
having been disappointed with even a 197, I can vouch for the mid-range pull of a tuned dci 80 (110bhp and 180lb/ft from a strong custom re-map and K&N panel filter)
to give you an idea of the potential, I had NO PROBLEM sticking with a Suzuki Swift Sport the other day (rated @ 8.9 to 60 and...
Don't see any RS on way to work , saw 3 today
Both on A43 towards Northampton @ 7.45/8.00am
Gordini Blue 182 (cup?) with S888 ARM
Black FF 182 with something like V**5 ORN
197 ('56 plate) in Gordini Blue with RS logos driven by sexy wee blonde lady - see every day, can't remember plate
PSi - says it at start of thread - doh
user-friendly version - put a bit more air in front tyres - MASSIVE improvement!
minor wheel/tyre change, yes, look in handbook/door,
but not stoopid - wheel/tyre combo COMPLETELY different from 185/55x15 to 205/40x17. If you want to be...
after years of crashing around, I decided to stick a few PSi in the tyres
was told 30 all round by two tyre garages
BEFORE: 30ps all round (but usually 28 when i check them). Front always looked flat and banged thro potholes (big fat engine?)
AFTER: 32 F, 30 R
so, so, so much...
go for it!
£35 tax, 60mpg (53 before re-map), 18K intervals (£67.00 for 54K)
Having easily beat a factory 100 (96bhp & 145lb/ft) in my re-mapped 80 (110 & 180lb/ft), I can vouch for the gains in power......
And having really pissed off a chap in a Suzi Swift Sport (0-60 in 8.9, 123mph)...
Go for it
I've had non-standard wheels (17's) on my dynamique dci for 3 years now - no probs. with anything such as suspension (lowered 40mm), shocks etc. after 55K
BUT the custom re-map and K&N improved it more :-O
100bhp from a 68? a bit ambitious?
I thought it was about:
68 to 88
80/86 to 100+
106 to 120
still would make a difference
P.S: best mod on mine was a K&N freeflow panel filter (about £30)
Pre-filter and strong 'custom' re-map:
wheezy @ 3800rpm
86bhp, 136lb/ft...
^ ^ yup
£100 colour coding side strips & silver for door badges
£20 silver vision bulbs
£150 to lower 40mm
stick the rest in a 182/197 fund
P.S: check insurance - should declare all, but at least obvious visual mods
some truth, MUCH ignorance!
have any of you diesel haters even driven the latest type such as BMW 320d or Meggy dCi 16v??
Having driven many, many, old-style diesels (Cavalier 1.6 up to and including the Td5 Disco and VAG PD 100-160 range), pre-yr 2000ish designs are mostly crude, heavy...
away from the lights? - petrol
on the road? diesel cos would have prob. 40% more torque
I'd say a diesel with 80% of the bhp of a petrol would be a match in 'every day'
i.e. an 80bhp diesel would match a 100bhp petrol 'in real life'
so a 160bhp diesel would match a 200bhp petrol
^...
^ ^ they would with a 2.0 dCi in a mark 2 cos very light :-)
Clio 182 = 1100kg, 182 bhp, 148 lb/ft
Clio dCi 150 (re-mapped) = 1100kg, 190bhp, 318 lb/ft
a grand says it would do 50mpg EASILY and go like a 'kin rocket
p.s. no 'genuine' guesstimate or offer - I'd pay someone to...
