Doesn't sound like your typical belt/pulley failure as the power loss was gradual.
Either way, I hope it's not too costly and you manage to get it sorted soon Sara. :)
There are two CAF's as one is closed by the acoustic valve when the engine is cold and the vlave opens to allow more air in once the car has warmed up. This is to meet EU noise regulations, something that isn't needed here in the UK.
The other CAF is always open.
That small hose is to tell...
Looks excellent that, don't see many 197 reps :approve:
I echo the thoughts about the rear arches but I know they're bespoke so it'd be a major hassle!
It shouldn't lose memory as they're coded to the car. First thing I'd do is change the battery in the key as you don't have a spare.
The key works on two systems, one controls the locking and the other the immobiliser.
Failing that try the decoder ring.
I am (hopefully) getting one from my dealer so I will let you know once I receive it.
Oh and yeah, my 182 'cocked' too whenever I jacked it up. I don't think it's a new thing, just another way of Renault keeping costs down.
I would too, it's in their interests to keep you happy.
I had a 182 alloy replaced FOC without any real proof that the dealer had caused the damage. I was 99% certain though as I'd know if I kerbed an alloy...
I would - RUK will contact the dealer in question and they'll get bollocked for a repair of that quality.
My front end, for comparison -
Oh and my Brembos squeak too, I just brake harder ;)
That is a shocking effort Paul, I definitely would be kicking up a big stink!
Looks like something a DIYer would do to try and hide the poor fitment, not something a bodyshop would do.
Post this over on the RenaultSport forum mate, should get RUK's attention. Oh and name the dealer too.
I'm out too as I'm 99% certain I will be staying in a hotel instead.

Still up for convoying down though :)
If you just wanted 172 Cup suspension then it's as simple as buying the dampers and springs and fitting them.
I think Fred is listing the Clio Cup race setup there...?
Have you had the headunit out at all?
Seems coincidence that your hazards and sat nav screen have both been playing up seen as they are both in the same area.
The screen not coming on could be a simple loose connection inside the dash top. Have you had the dash off?
