I really cant see why anyone would want to lower a Cup? Are 100£ springs (that aint matched to the cup shocks) really going to improve on Renault sports set-up?
And it wont be any faster than a STANDARD CUP, but it will make the handling of the Cooper S worse (161 hp brillaint handling, but stick 212 through the front wheels and it aint going to same) Oh and that Hartge conversion means you can wave good bye to you 100£ 5 year service thing and the BMW...
100£ for 5 years shows a lot of confidence in their cars! However I considered a Cooper S when I was looking at the Cup (getting it next weekend :-)) but its just way to slow compared to a 172/Cup.
Wow a black 172 with a red towing eye! Ground breaking  Really like black cars but not on a 172 it makes the car look like a 1.2 (no offence to 1.2 owners)
From my experience they are not fast at all in comparison to a 172(test drove 156 hp version and 180 R version) my pal has a chipped 156 hp version and it has about 200 hp its totally even with with my bros 172 on the road and 1/4 strip (Teady172) When my bro had his V6 Laguna and raced him...
Yeah Derv, but if your driving along on the m/w and someone pulls in front of you just as your going passed your automatic reaction will be to swerve or brake hard which means 9/10 you will crash. Just admit it and dont make up stories because if he has any witnesses it will come back on you!
Well there is something wrong with that 172! My bros 172 can match my pals 200 hp chipped Ibiza Cupra Turbo (on the 1/4 mile strip and road). The standard Cupra would not stand a chance against a "good" 172 when my Primera was running 160 hp it was even against the standard Cupra is his Cupra an...
Yeah and that Cupra WILL have been chipped to about 200 hp+ for it to stay with a 172! I know that for a fact. My Primera Sri (RR@ 170hp) would rip a 156 Cupra to shreads they really are that slow (no top end at all, my pal has a 200 hp chipped one btw)
From the sounds of it is was your fault, 1.6 16 valve im sure you wouldnt give that adivse if it was you he forced to hit the central reservation. If it was your fault put your hands up and admit it.
Reth im in Dunfermline, they offered me 3 k for my 97 P Primera 2.0 SRi (low miles 42000) so 13 k to change to cup (no money off cup) How did u get such a good deal?
I dont buy the V6 waiting list story! I know Renault found it hard to shift the last batch, infact the were effectively giving them away to Renault employees, under 20 grand for a brand new one. I had heard storys of dozens of V6s sitting waiting for buyers, all gone now though!!
Oh and MK2...
I really doubt that! From what ive seen of "one of the fastest valvers" its a pretty ordinary car performance wise. A 4motion 204 hp 195 lb ft? will eat it alive off the line (Halex) and slap it ingear and top end.
Why you aiming it at valvers? unless heavily modded (i.e new engine/nos/turbo) it wont get any where near a 4 motion. I rekon it will get beat by a 172/cup from 0-120 ish and then the 4motion will go passed i rekon.
