I was just going to say what Rich has said. If it's an insurance write off then surely you wont be able to get independent insurance on it until after the VIC check?
Form some of the 172's there isn't a .rst file available from fastchip so it could well be that you simply updated the .cal file thus not needing to save your standard map.
How strange!
Can't imagine why the brake lights failing would disable the cruise control.
However, I'm glad you got it sorted and thanks for posting the results as this may help me out somewhat :)
Yes, the best trick is to push all the cables and connectors down behind the heater controls as there's plenty of room down there.
Pushing them to the side/back will never work.
Yes, it did last night on several codes.
Click 'enable' enter new code, click 'write' then click 'read'. Unless I'm missing something blatantly obvious as far as I'm aware I'm doing it right and get the new code afterwards.
I then go to NSU and it comes back with no updates.
Tried most of the UK/Euro codes on that page last night John to no avail.
Can anyone give me a code they know will update to newer firware than 12.043?
Yeah I know what you mean about the 5800, had a bit of a play with it and it all seems a bit of gimmick to me.
As for the firmware on the N96, I'm running 12.043 and it states no updates available :dapprove:
Think I'll be sticking with the N to be honest, seems a much more capable phone.
My 182 made 191 recently, how reliable that is anyone knows but a 172 on the same rollers struggled to the mid 160's.
Mod wise - Yozza exhaust, ITG panel filter and an RS Tuning remap.
I bought nearly everything from eBay seperately mate - the discs were about £100 delivered from GSF on eBay. The lines were about £50 delivered and the pads were about £50 for the full set, fronts and rears.
The fluid I got from Opie Oils on here, I forget how much it cost but it wasn't...
I've got Brembo Max HC discs, Mintex pads, braided lines and Castrol Super fluid, an excellent setup in my opinion and set me back around £200 all in (I fitted it all myself).
Package wise I think K-Tec is probably your best bet, they have some good offers.
Had the N96 12 months now and to be honest it's not a bad little phone despite it's firmware issues.
I've today received the Nokia 5800 Xpress music phone as my free upgrade and I can't decide which phone to keep!
The N96 is worth £140~ to phone recycling websites and the 5800 is selling on...
