... also would add that removing back seats, spare wheel and fitting turinis would come to 15.5 back seats + 20 spare wheel and kit + 8 kg`s all round alloys compared with stock 172 wheels = 33.5kg`s so iam affraid still nowhere near.
btw ive weighed all of the above accuratley so iam not...
the only experience i have is owning a MKII172 53reg (nearly two yrs) and now a 172cup 52reg (nearly 3months).
there are so many things a 172MKII has in terms of gadgets and better interior build.
and comparing a small flame to a raging inferno is some peoples idea of a "noticble difference"...
.. you cant hardly ever lauch hard and fast in the clio as the front end bangs away as the wheels bounce around. spoils fun :( shame as the audi quattro i was driving yesterday out of junction foot to the floor in the rain just set off stable and in an unfussed manner godamitt
hmm.. i wouldnt go that far, of course there not as raw as the clio, and in fact the clio would piss on it however given the audience which ford usually targets there still fast if you look at that time, how much do they cost ? if its same or more than the clio then i retract that last statement.
why hasnt anyone mentioned and i may add never do offer the option of supercharging ??? its cheaper than a TB or turbo conversion and can offer anthying from a simple 30bhp to 80bhp depending on how much you wanna spend, theres no lag either so it suits at least the 172/182 and their instant...
yes it does m8 but everyones poo poo`ing for some reason, if i got H&R`s on my cup with just the back seats out it would match the trophy if not beat it once fully wound down. in fact although the remote resovours are good on rough roads i cant see that they will be better than a decent set i.e...
ive got a garage that feck everything up near me and cant do a job properly but they will pass my decatted 172cup come MOT time if i throw a couple a pennies there way lol
..as mentioned surley removing huge 17" wheels (well they are for a supermini) will improve handling dont forget that big saloon cars run on 17" wheels most still on 16" wheels.
in times of old polos, clios etc.. would run 13" or 14" wheels so for a car of its size 17" is frankly daft.
is the speeline logo that important ? surley a new colour i.e gunmetal would stand out more than clearing up one kerbing and losing a cheesy speedline logo ?
anyways back to hogging the thread, is it a matt white finish or gloss white fred ? give me a price an il be down next month to throw...
... btw saw a 205gti the other day with a really wide track and lowered heavily with fat tyres it looked a bit like the old cooper s in stance but wider ! cornered literaly like a go kart
prolly true, the more modern cars get the less involving they are, wouldnt want to be in a 205gti in a crash though when those corner antics went wrong, that said i wouldnt want anything less involving than the cup so a hatcback i.e LCR, CTR are out of the question.
at a push id take a 106gti...
breaking it down on a 172cup you need omex ecu, carbs, exhaust and wiring is this correct.
also if carbs are cheap (which they are) to buy as a set, then why are the convertions upwards and beyond £3,500 ?!
dont forget the 5.7 on here was a lightly tuned (rsport, induction, decat) 172cup and no doubt with backseats out they will whip a lot of things weighing only 980/990 kilo`s and with around a genuine 185bhp. mine was a 6.22 with not much fuel and no back seats in the cup. My old MKII 172 had a...
nah blacks been done to death these days, so has anthracite and although it makes them look great (or mucky) its not original. white or green for me muahah
strange then how on their site they claim they can make custom exhausts ???
fuk em, get down to prospeed m8
or check out that orbisound vid of the 182 owner on here, ive a feeling these are gonna be big
why not put them on full time, there just about the best looking wheels anyway and get them refurbed and coated anthracite or kawasaki green lol
im seriously considering refurning mine in kawasaki green on the 172 cup but il prolly go with gloss white instead.
