Make sure that it isnt just one straight line challenge and youll be OK. The Type-R is like a Clio 16v in the way it develops its torque way up the revs range, so out of roundabouts and so on, over a good distance, should put you in contention for a scalp if hes not on the ball (like you have...
I think its to with having wider tracks, but the same steering rack as a regular Clio(?). My dads Volvo 960 does turning manouvers my Clio 16v could never do!

I also have that colour on my 16v - as do Jon L, Glen and Rockport. We were at Brands together!

Have a look at the pearlescent effect on the wing in...

Yeah - its full of inaccuracies! (would be ironic if I spelt that wrong!)
Evo show the 19 16v with a 0-60 of 7.4 and the Willy with 7.7!
Interestingly, the most comprehensive test Ive seen of a 1991 Clio 16v (in Autocar) gives a 0-60 of 7.3! Actually, the Williams they tested a year later...
The 2.0 16v 150bhp GTi was the pick of the Mk3 Golf line-up in my opinion (VR6 is fast, but not complete due to front end weight bias). The 1.8 16v Mk2 GTi is also highly regarded. Thats saying something too - as Im usually the one slating Golfs! Much tuning gear available for the Mk2...

Firstly, to keep my car in mint condition and maybe actually get round to using it on some of my favourite roads!
Im also very seriously thinking of building a replica of an Austin-Healey "Frogeye" Sprite, based on a Mini 1275cc shell. That should keep my busy!
The auxillary drive belt is harder to change than youd imagine due to the lack of space. Its usually done by undoing a tensioner nut on the adjuster puuley, but if the tension is OK, then Id do it by taking the alternator off - much easier IMO. Dont let it snap in service - it isnt good...

The Clio 16v is a fair bit quicker than the 19 16v as it weighs 150-200kgs less. Thats much more of a difference than the between the VTS/106 and the 16v (20-50kgs).

Well, my 16v simply has "Renault" and "Clio" on the back of the car. Ive also painted over the silver "16v" lettering on the side badges! Now thats subtle!
Guess people do have the bonnet bulge and wide arches to warn them though!
Hmmm! That means that I have a very fuel efficient car!
Actually, I dont think my 1.2 was any more economical. I used to have to rag it to get anywhere!
Got 230 miles once! That was ragging it for three days solid on the roads around my home!!
Thats about 20mpg! Still not that bad: my dads 3.0 straight-six auto Volvo gets 10mpg around town!
